You know what? Tough names are actually a bad idea. If your dog ends up injuring someone in the future, the fact that you named it "Killer" or whatever could go against you if you get involved in a legal case. They will argue you knew the dog was vicious and intended it to be that way because of the name you picked. Just pick a normal name.

tough names usualy sound better with small dogs I think.. A well trained guard dog doesnt need a tough name at all. All they need is lots of love so they know who it is they are protecting.
a good tough sounding name, thats also a good family dogs name is.. Frankenstein... Duke.. Hawkeye...

I had a Doberman named Apocalypse once. He was really a big ole baby but the name sure sounded tough!

I'd say go for a mythology name: Odin, Thor, Zeus, Loki, etc.
They're powerful names, not incriminating (like Killer, I agree with the above comment about a name coming back to haunt you...)

well, i named mine Dante thinking that it would remind people of Dante's Inferno (the book, not the movie) and would inspire fear. it didn't work because apparently nobody reads anymore. give it time and a name will come to you, the dogs personality will shine through and you'll know what to name it.
