I reported a crime to the police. The first person they investigated was me. I was interrogated and they wanted to search my house. It was an ordeal, intimidating, and scary. I came away with the opinion that I should not become involved with the police unless it directly involved me and that one can never be sure how the police interpret what you may say and the ramifications of what you may say. I'm sorry. Next time I look away.

The crime I saw was a home break-in.

With all the information, and fine details you have presented, I now have a totally clear picture of the crime you reported, and can not even imagine why you were interrogated, or why they would want to search your house. In the future, I suggest you contact everyone on Yahoo Answers, and get their opinion, instead of contacting the Police. Thank you for sharing this experience with us.

To DaViD ScHwImMeR Tell them to stop committing murders, rapes and robberies in record numbers then blaming Whitey for being in jail and people will stop looking down on them And before you pull the card out of the deck these numbers are FBI crime stats pulled from conviction and case files not some white supremacy website You all complain that its da streets and they never had a chance yet seems you always hear about some a students from the ghetto goin to some great college because he worked for it and didn't feed into the other kids or how he was bullied for wanting to learn or called "uncle tom" or "trying to act white" Maybe its not the streets or whites you need to take a hard look at but the culture you live in that denounces intelligence and hard work yet glorifies crime and violence and the gangsta thug image Just a thought

I would have to say that there is something missing from this story.
I hate to be so suspicious, but affter reviewing your previous questions about police tactics and law, it makes me wonder what else happened after you called the police.
Whether or not you ever report a crime again is totally up to you.

Statistically, people are so shady that they set up scams.
What about child molesters...they are usually known to the victim as well as a lot of murders...
I don't hold people of a certain ethnic group or race accountable because of what a few have done to me personally..
Same thing can be said of the police...

If I saw something where someones life is in danger, I would call. Other than that no, because they will turn on you. They do not care who they bust, as long as they bust someone.

NEVER call the police. Unless you want to waste a couple of hours filling out papers for nothing.
You can add the time theft to your loss if you do.
I will not call the police ever again, unless it's something obviously serious and most of my friends won't either.
The local police seem to like this as our police chief has publicly bragged that crime is down! In reality, we just quit calling them.

I have a hard time buying this. I think what you perceived and what actually happened are very different...
