Way too much. Do not purchase any dog from a pet store (especially Bulldogs), because you will be getting a puppy mill puppy. Bullies are very prone to so many health problems, and poor breeding makes it so much worse. Plus, reputable breeders are not usually that much more expensive than what a pet store charges.

I cannot emphasis enough that you shouldn't buy a dog from a pet store, especially an english bulldog. Click on my avatar and look at one of the very first questions I answered. It is about how ignorant breeders have totally messed up the bulldog by breeding for looks and not health. Find a reputable breeder if you want one. A bulldog is going to cost you a fortune in vet bills, so you might as well buy a healthy one and hope for a few less problems. Expect to pay around $1200 to $1500 and up to $3000 for one in the south. Don't forget to look at petfinder.com or some of the bulldog rescues too.
Buy smart or pay the price later. Bargain hunting on a purebred is like buying an appliance from a salvage yard. Beware.

Any animal you buy from a pet store is sure to be a puppy mill dog. You don't want that. Too much inbreeding and overbreeding creates multitudes of defects and illness. If this is the dog you want, seek out a reputable breeder. You will pay top dollar, but you will get a healthy, well-tempered dog. You can check the AKC website for breeders: http://akc.org.

You need to go to a good breeder. Pet stores often get their pups from "puppy mills" . Bulldogs tend to have certain health problems so a breeder might be a better choice for a better quality of dog.

why don't you try adopting a pet from a rescue group first? It's a lot cheaper and you won't be putting money in to the pockets or horrible animal abusers. not to get all PETA on you but you will save yourself money in the long run. did you know dogs from pet stores are more than likely produced in puppy mills? they may not seem sick while at the store but when you get home you may start to see serious health problems because of them living in horrible conditions before being placed in the stores window. just a thought.

Too much. Because their pups come from puppymills and have all kinds of health issues and defects. Try finding a responsible breeder of Bulldogs or a Bulldog rescue through the National Breed Club instead:

depends pet land is about 2000 to 3000, but you can get one out of the paper for 900 to 1500 dollars and you can see the parents. Pet stores take away the screening breeders require and make it easy for you to purchase a puppy so they have to give a mark up because they spend so much on the pup in the first place, some smaller pet stores may charge less, but that is the going price in OHIO, but if you just want a bull dog then go thru a rescue most charge under 300 dollars, the pound where i work adopted out a few adults for only 125 dollars, a grown dog is house broke and past all puppy stanges and you know the animal is healthy, as bull dogs are very prone to puppy problems as well as genetic problems in general

Don't ever buy from a pet store. Go to a responsible breeder, or even better, find a bulldog rescue in your area.

DO NOT GO TO A PET STORE FOR A PET!!!!!
Go to a breeder... Check newspapers or with the AKC... or local kennel clubs.
There is no guarantee to the quality or the health of a pet through a pet store....
A breeder will be trying to breed what is closest to the breed standard for that breed.

Far too much.. They get their puppies from Puppymills.. So they get them for cheap and over charge you.. You should go to a real breeder and get a quality dog.. Forget the petstore, you are supporting puppymills. Only way to get rid of a puppymill is to quit buying their badly bred dogs.
