If I weighed 185 lbs, and had a sedentary to light activity lifestyle. Thanks. (for a school project...so please try to be accurate and list sources or reasoning)

If you're female, you probably need about 1250 calories per day for maintenance for a nice body at 5'2". Determine how many calories you need for maintenance first at the size you want to be.

1lb of fat is equal to 3500 calories.

at 300 calories per day your at -900 calories a day which leaves you at -6300 cal a week. So you'll lose about close to 2lbs of fat a week. Add in the lbs of water and some for muscle loss and you can see about 4+lbs a week after your initial 2-4 weeks on a diet.

you would lose water weight and muscle not fat also will slow down metabolism dramatically and gain back more than lost as soon as start eating normal
