They smear you with some cold cookum to make good sonic contact. (in some offices, they'll be nice and the gookum warmed). You sit fairly still and the operator moves the probe around on your skin in the area they're studying. Doesn't hurt . The probe has to be in good contact with your body, so she'll (he'll?) push a little, but no blood, no gore, no pain..... You'll probably be able to watch the screen and see the images.... which won't look like much to the untrained eye. After a little while it's over.... they wipe off the gookum and you get dressed.
