Sort of like the woman who thought it was the right thing to do to drown her five children in the bathtub...was Falwell on this order of delusion, only not quite so apparent?

Since we cannot read minds, and since no one has found recordings, letters, or diary entries showing what the Rev. Falwell's motives were, there's really no way for us to know with any degree of certainty whether he believed he was doing right or just did whatever he wanted to for personal gain.

Jerry Falwell did not seem to care what the Bible said about anything. I doubt that he was deluded, but I can't see any other answer other than to hypothesize that he might have really been an Atheist who wanted Christianity to look foolish and combined this goal with making money. But that would only be guesswork based on his complete rejection of the Bible.

Jerry made a career out of Blaspheming against the Holy Spirit and teaching others to do the same. No one who has read the bible and believes it could make that choise unless insane.

So Falwell was either insane or an Atheist.

I think Falwell really believed he was doing right. That woman who drowned her children was sick to begin with, and Falwell definitely wouldn't have approved.

Maybe Yahoo should add a " I hate God" section so all the people who truly hate God, would have a place to go. I know they have a place to go, but I am talking about in the mean time. Mr. Falwell is gone to see the same God that most people hate. Mr. Falwell's time on earth is over. People really should be thinking about, what will happen when they stand in judgment?

I don't believe so. You cannot live the sinful life of Mr. Falwell and not see how it is directly opposed to the teachings of Jesus. Personally, I believe he was an athiest and had so little respect for Christianity that he would use it to line his own pockets.

Sorry, but that is what I believe.

Other than his well-publicized political aspirations, I do not claim to know what Jerry Falwell's motives were personally, but surely he must have realized that many of his statements were not only outrageous but patently false!

Of course he did. Falwell never killed anyone, though. And you are making a comparison that is not even close to being true. Just because you didn't like what he said it didn't kill you.
We still have free speech.

i do believe that falwell thought he was doing God's work...whether he was or wasn't, is a question only God can answer...but to compare making offensive and ignorant statements to drowning children is, in my opinion, just a tad the other side of ridiculous

they're attacking a lifeless guy and the only one that they are inflicting discomfort to is his family individuals. those are an identical people who will shove a microphone into the face of a sufferer of organic disaster and ask them how they sense. they do no longer tutor a lick of undemanding sense. they have not have been given any compassion for those in discomfort. in case you compromise with the guy or no longer that isn't any longer the time to vilify him.

It would be nice if you did not talk in generalities. If you think he did not do the right thing then please say what it was that he did that you did not like and then ask your question. Otherwise you are being vague and obtuse so as to make yourself look good. It is poor logic and poorer courtesy to those answering.
