Ha ha! For me it's the lack of absolutes! I personally find absolutes a turn off since they seem so contra-logical.

I am happy to have doubts. It seems to me to be a natural state. Without doubt then why question? Without questions how can there be growth of understanding? Without understanding what have you got? Nothing of value, I'd say. Just dogma.

What absolutes? You're being quite vague.

If you are talking about facts, then, yes, that does draw people. Scientists look for facts in their studies and try to figure out how the universe works.

Usually, though, when I hear people talk about absolutes, they are talking about moral absolutes. Morality, by definition, is relative. When you talk about right and wrong, you have to first address point of view. Anything can be right or wrong from someone else's point of view. We only have common moralities because we are all human and live in fairly similar societies. Society's morality evolves over time.

Its both the absolutes and the absense of absolutes that keep me in. God loves me absolutely, and having no idea what will happen today or tomorrow, being able to rely only on God's comfort keeps life thrilling and exciting! I mean think about it, the end of the world could come tomorrow. Having to stand up for something to which so many people are opposed is actually quite stimulating.

Everything is relative, so-called Bible absolutes are arbitrarily decided upon and so are relative to the era in which they are decided and relative to the person who makes a decision on it...totally relative.
