Absolutely!!!! Forget the races and go to 'The Castle Museum', 'Clifford's Tower', 'York Minster', 'York Dungeons', etc, etc, etc instead. You'll have a much better day than wasting all your money on the gee-gee's - ooh yes, don't forget to go to that gorgeous carvery just around the corner from the Jorvik Centre - beef just melts in your mouth! You can always get pi&%ed when you get home!
