Pretty much, the norse creation myth is one of the oldest around, whether they worshipped the cows or not I do not know, but the myth goes something like this...
The Norse creation myth begins, as I have already written, with nothing but dark chaos. This nothing, called Ginnungagap, is placed south of Nieflheim, where there is only ice and north of Muspelheim where there is nothing but glowing embers.
In Ginnungagap the ice from Nieflheim and the parks from Muspelheim meet and create an evil giant called Ymir. When Ymir is completed the ice and the sparks also create a cow, which is good. The cow feeds the giant Ymir, and itself is licking blocks of ice. One day when it is licking a huge ice block the god of Love, Bure, comes out of it.
Later on Bures offspring has a struggle against Ymir and the other giants. Ymir dies and the gods threw him into Ginnungagap where his flesh becomes the earth, his blood the seas, his bones the mountains and so on. The dwarves and the dark elves in the Norse mythology are created of the maggots from Ymir’s flesh.
When some of the gods are walking on a shore they see two tree trunks and give them souls, motions and senses. These become the two first humans, Ask and Embla.

WHAT THE!!!... I've NEVER heard that one. I promise you, the oldest documented religious practice is SUN WORSHIP, not cow worship.
I don't know of the cave paintings your specifically referring to, but there are MANY cave paintings that are very old, in almost every culture, that depict the sun. Historically, though, the most primitive cultures and ancient civilizations worshiped either the sun or the earth. The sun because it's that giant shinny thing that's hovering above you all day, and the earth simply because it is the earth. Worshiping nature (rocks, trees, plants, etc.) is probably almost just as old as sun worship. I'm sure cows have been included in many cases throughout history, but I don't believe that they were by any means the first.

It does make appropriate experience if we predict that God has no substantial subject with idol worship regularly, yet chosen His people while mankind had reached a definite degree, to gradually handbook humanity in the direction of the understanding of the single genuine God. notice that each physique those strict policies concerning faith are directed basically at Israel. No united states of america or guy or woman exterior of Israel is being punished for incorrect ideals in the process the Jewish Scriptures. And, final not least, there is Deut 4:19 "...and lest thou bring up up thine eyes unto heaven, and while thou seest the solar and the moon and the celebrities, even all of the host of heaven, thou be drawn away and worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath disbursed unto all of the peoples decrease than the entire heaven." meaning: all those different religions have a place in His plan, besides. Now forget approximately that nonsensical "you will bypass to hell in case you do not have faith in me" -stuff, and tell me if it nevertheless is mindless. in line with edit: wherein e book did the Jews write that God promised them the international?

No.
If we accept the Bible as true, Judaism is the oldest religion.
The EARLIEST religion would be the pre-cursor Judaic faith of Adam. However it has not existed for over 3000 years.
The earliest form of paganism known was the pre-flood religion that carved the lion monument on Giza. Egyptians later defaced this idol and carved a Pharoah's head where the lion's head had been. There exact beliefs are unknown.

Dunno about "Oldest" ... but the Egyptians worshiped the Cow which is why God commanded Mosses & Aaron to eat the cow ... break them of their worshiping false idols.
The prohets of "South Park" have three intense stories about the "Cow." Which is typically a buzzer on what's going on behind the scenes since these prohets often talk in crypt. The first show, "Cartmen get's annal probed":
Alien: We have experimented with all the being of Earth and we have learned that you are the most intelligent and wise.
Cartman: What the hell are they talking about??
Cows: Why did you turn some of us inside-out?
Alien: Oh, that was Carl's fault. He's new.
Carl: Yea, sorry about that. My bad! (1)
------- ------- -------
Next prophetic show about cows is "Fun with Veal" which shows the dangers to the modern worshping of cows.
------- ------- -------
And then there's a mysterious one that when you first watch it it appears to be "Cartmen gets annal probed", but it's actually giving us more insight to this practice.
