I am a German Citizen and I am married to an American. We lived 8 months in germany this year and now we have moved back to the U.S. We moved to Germany in December 2005 and we came back in August 2006. The rest of 2006 I work in an American company, which I also received a W-2. What do I need to do?

Based on the information you have provided It would appear that all of your income would be taxable in the US. It is rather good advice for you to discuss the details with a tax professional familiar with overseas income reporting, however the dates you have give would not seem to meet the foreign income exclusion rules.

If you are a US citizen or legal resident, your worldwide income must be reported. Dual citizenship is possible, but I assume you would know if you had it. Their are exclusions for foreign earned income and credits for tax paid to other countries. Please read IRS Publication 54 Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad.

If you have a green card, you are required to file US taxes regardless of where you made the money, even if it is your home country (or country of your citizenship). You might be elligible for excluding a part of it from your taxable income, but you have to report it nevertheless.
