Hi i was wondering about a drug called methadose? My friend's son is taking it i dont know legal or illegal he is 22 and with the pills she found a powder substance she thinks he might be snorting it as well as swallowing it. My question is why would he be snorting it? And would snorting it get him higher than talking it orally? The pills say methadose 10, what does the 10 stand for the mg or something else? Please any info will help thanks....

Methadose 10 mg pills are simply methadone. Not only is methadone used for heroin and opiate detox, it is also used to treat chronic pain. Many pain management clinics prescribe it for chronic severe pain. Powder found with the pills, was it orange in color? If so, it was probably the crumbs off a methadone wafer (40 mg). These are extremely crumbly, somewhat square large, and are scored crosswise and lengthwise for easy breaking. (One company also makes white 40 mg round wafers) Methadone is sometimes mixed with water and drank as a solultion. Never heard of anyone snorting it. I don't think it would work any faster this way anyway.

Methadone is extremely addictive. Some say moreso that heroin. I would try to confront him and find out if he has a legal script or if he is just doing it recreationally. If it's a recreational thing, just a tiny bit too much methadone could kill a person who has not built up a tolerance to it. This is something that needs immediate attention and possibly intervention.

Good luck and bless you and your family.

Methadose 10 is also known as Methadone 10mg and alot of doctors give this to their patients to get them off of heroine. Might not be the case here i wouldn't know for sure. It is a narcotic and if he doesn't have a legal prescription for it with his name on it he could get into serious trouble if caught by the law. I don't know about the powder. It could be just about anything. Pray for your friend and her son and hope he isn't taking it without a prescription and without being under doctor care.
