Ok. ☼Gerbils and hamsters would stink up ur whole place so i wouldn't advise those. I once had a rat,and it was great fun, but i had to change its cage everyday,so it wasn't the best.I've had experience with mice and they bite really hard...OUCH!Plus,all of the above animals are not very smart except sometimes rats.Rabbits need loads of attention and really stink 2... Oh yea!Guinea Pigs are the bombest of all! They need the perfect amount of attention, don't stink,AND are EXTREMELY smart!I have a guinea pig myself, an she is the sweetest! Her cage is easy to clean and all I really have to do is feed her, hold her,and give her water. I clean her cage once a week.Oh yea and 4 any rodent u get, do NOT get a wire bottom cage, or ur pet will get an infection on its foot.I would really recomend a guinea pig!($Guinea pigs are also cheaper$)Your Welcome!♪

RIGHT... I HAVE HAD ALL OF THE SMALL ANIMALS THAT YOU COULD THINK OF!!!

I NOW HAVE TWO GUINEA PIG'S AND THEY HAVE BEEN BY FAR THE BEST RODENT, IN MY OPINION!!!

They start off quite shy, but if u handle them a lot when they're young then they become extremely tame. I have never had a problem with being bitten by a guinea pig, either. Also, the advantage is that you can have an indoor guinea pig!! Added to this, they aren't smelly at all and they are very easy to look after. Their food is extremely cheap and I recommend, that if you do get a guinea pig that you buy the pets at home nibble food pellets(if you live in the UK)!!! I hope I have helped you come to a decision!!

Hi hun i love my furry little friends and Ive had all 3 but not at the same time. They are all easy to tame and clean but gerbils and hamsters do come awake of a night and can become noise. Gerbils when scared stand on there back legs and tap the floor it can become irritating after a while. Hamster do hibernate so many people have buried there pets in thinking that there dead and there not. I would recommend a guinea pig.

Rats are very intelligent animals, can learn their name, and even some tricks if tamed and taught from a young age, they can become very attached to you. Guinea pigs are too lovely pets if tames from a young age but aren't as affectionate as a rat or gerbil. All of these pets should be kept in pairs or groups, they thrive on companionship. If you still aren't sure, just pop to your local pet shop and ask them for some advice, they might be able to tell you which you're most suited to based on how much time you'll have to spend with the pet and other small details. :)

If you are home during the day then I would go for a guinea pig, they are usually up during the day unlike hamsters or gerbils, they are very easy to take care of and will actually interact with you, allowing you to hold them with out getting bit and they "greet" you when you walk into the room....

If you want something easy to care for, I would suggest a gerbil. As long as you put in a wheel and the right food, they should be fine. But some rodents will run themselves to death if the keep on running in the wheel, so I'd watch out. But if you want something that doesn't try to run that much, a guinea pig would be the deffinet choice. They are tame and need little attention, like a gerbil or hamster. They also tend to be shy. Even though one bit me before. Anyways, if you want an outgoing, energetic pet, gerbil's right. But if you want something shy, gentle(usually), and slow, pick the guinea pig.

The hamsters I've had are very grumpy in the daytime; they just want to sleep then.
Rats are very nice pets. Mice are too, but their urine smells worse than the other rodents. Gerbils also are pleasant, peaceable creatures. Guinea pigs are a little skittish but otherwise nice. All the rodents, I think, are nocturnal by nature, but, except for hamsters, they all are willing to wake up and play.
(Actually I've never seen a guinea pig asleep; or maybe they sleep with their eyes open.)

Chinchillas are great pets! They're very friendly and playful, and don't smell at all. I do have to warn you that they're good jumpers and climbers and will get into all sorts of trouble when they're out. If you think you can handle that, I'd suggest looking up some more information on their care and seeing if they sound right to you. They are nocturnal but usually wake up around 8 PM.

well thats easy.. none of the above.. coz u gotta get a rat.. or preferably two.. ive kept em for years and find them incredible to live with for many reasons..firstly they are INTELLIGENT, which makes them easy to train.not just tricks and coming to u when u call their name, but the social attitude, eg if you want to train him to sit in your pocket when you're out and about you can, they love hoody pockets and hoods, they love a cuddle and fuss, they are active and inquisitive and have a personality that is sooo much bigger than they are.. ive never been bitten by any of my rats, and they live in a luxury extralarge cage with multi levels and ropes and ladders every where, which costs quite a lot to set up, about a hundred quid or so but if you're gonna cage any animal u should at least treat it right... the bonus with rats is you can let them run around on the sofa with u while you watch movies(dillon, a rat i had years ago, wasnt happy unless he was curled up round my neck watchin the motorbike racin...), sometimes when im busy i dont do more than check food and water for the day and make it up the next.. they never mind/notice.. if you want to spend hours every day they will take it(often a good idea for new young rats)or ten minutes three times a day(as long as they are not alone)..you just wont get the feedback...they are so versatile as pets i wouldnt have anything else...plus, most land lords dont mind rats as pets.. cos they are in a cage....they only live for three or four years so its not a lifetime commitment, they are incredibly easy to keep clean and they only smell bad if you leave their cage too long... they eat almost anything, (just dont give em lettuce as its bad for em.and no chocolate.)but are healthiest on nuggets or a grain mix u can get anywhere..with water...
