She's fine. My son is 15 months and he says mama, dada, no, uh oh and tickle.
We just have to wait to they get ready to say more words. Be patient. She'll start talking and when she do, be ready, bc they don't stop. LOL

hi, i work with 8 children from ages 9 months to 20 months in day care 5 days a week.. working there you are required to take alot of early child hood classes. We are always told that every child will learn, talk, crawl, walk and eat at there on pace. you can encourage speaking by saying the word to everything that she points to. but i wouldnt be worried some 14 month old children dont say anything... 3 words is actually pretty good. i wouldnt be worried at all and i would say that she will start talking more around 18 months.. just give it time and all you can do is encourage her. its nothing to worry about. pretty soon, youll look back at the days she only said a few words!!! hope this helps

The age is different with each child but my children started using lots of words when they were 2 and now my middle is almost 3 and he's just starting to say full sentences.
It takes soooo much time before they actually start speaking a lot of words, and even then they are only words. It will take longer before they speak their first full sentence. At first she may pronounce the words wrong, but don't correct her, that's how her little mouth is learning to speak. It will improve over the next few months. My youngest is 17 months right now and she says a few words, maybe about 10 words total.

Well she is right where she should be. Between 18-24 months is when toddlers start talking a lot more. The average 21 months old has at aleast 20 words, and the average 24 month old has at least 50 words.

Each of these precious little ones are different. Girls do often start talking sooner than boys, but I wouldn't expect more words from her for six months or so.
Don't compare her to what others do. Babies with older siblings often talk younger, but not always.
Just love your daughter and be kind to her. Teach her right from wrong, keep her safe. She will speak more when she is good and ready!

my oldest son is five years old and he didn't start to talk very well until he was about four years old. Now I have 2 year old twins and one is very talkative and the other takes after his older brother says very few words. I'm not that concerned because I've been through it before. Just know that your baby will talk when they are ready.

when she's ready. my son has been talking since about 9 mos old. he just turned 2 and talks in understandable sentences. but my niece (sister-in-law's baby) who is a few days from turning 1 doesn't say anything at all. just make sure to enunciate when you talk to her- no more baby talk (if you still are anyway). read books with her and be repetitive. show her a ball and tell her what it is, pretty soon she'll be telling you what it is. just little stuff like that. though if you are ever worried about her speech or hearing make sure to bring it up at her next doctor's visit.

It takes time, my daughter is 17m old and still does not talk that much. I know that she knows a lot of words but she doesn't use them. Just recently she started telling me eat when she is hungry or if i am eating she will say bite if she wants some, but that is all. It will take time, start asking her to repeat things you say and then if she screams for something ask he to use her words. See if the helps.

My youngest daughter is the same age as your baby and saying the same things. It can take up until two years old or even longer before they say more. My other daughter didn't really start talking until after she turned two.
