I need help please with gift ideas for my wife's birthday.

She will be mid thirties and is pregnant so any pregnancy related gift ideas that will make it easier greatly appreciated...

She is not a girly girl and does not like make up cosmetics etc...

Previous successes include a necklace photoholder thingy with the kids photos in it.

She has no real hobbies as such...

We are taking limo to dinner etc but am really looking for something special.

Write her a story or poem. They are the best gifts. They show that you really care about the person and took the time to think about their good qualities. Also, A beautiful pair of earnings is great. Maybe just a simple bouquet of flowers.

Another great idea is a day at the spa! She would probably appreciate that after lugging that baby around!

I bet that anything you do will make her happy because you love her and she knows it. :) Good luck

I hope this helps!

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it! Focus on the pregnancy and other kids.

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

Women like a variety...a gift that you made so it shows effort and thought then maybe something more expensive like the limo ride and dinner. One of the sweetest things my husband ever did was make a mix cd of slow songs. When we came home from dinner, he had it cued up and ready. He asked me to go into the bedroom while he got things ready. When I came out, he had the entire room lit w/ candles and rose petals thrown around w/ that cd playing. The only thing I had asked for was a slow dance w/ him so that's what he gave me. It was so thoughtful and romantic.

A few other ideas:

*personalized items - just do a search on yahoo for personalized gift. my hubby got me a personalized poem that was etched in glass. very pretty and sweet.
*i've seen a book that mother's fill out that tell their child everything about themselves - their story. it might not make sense now, but if your wife is sentimental, she'll like it. it's for when the child is older and wants to truly know her mother....what she was like as a child, her dreams, how she met you, what she thinks of love, etc.
*if she likes jewelry, maybe she'd like a charm bracelet w/ birthstones from each of your kids.....

Just some thoughts. hope this helps!

They actully have pregnancy massages out there. I know you say she is not girly, and neither am I but this is something I would love for my husband to do. Maybe a gift card to a dress shop that is just for pregnant women. Those places have the best clothes that make all pregnant types feel comfortable and beautiful at the same time.

How sweet you are to your expecting wife! I didn't think they made them like you anymore!!!!!!!!! I would suggest if you got some nice pretty paper and in your own handwriting, write down all the things about her that bring you joy and how happy she has made you.Being a women , i know how special something like that is and its something you don't say everyday.Tell her how proud you are that she is the mother of your child. It wont cost anything.Just let the words pour from your heart. You could present it to her in the Limo.I bet it brings tears to her eyes.Whatever you decide to do always tell her how much you love her especially now that she is pregnant! Women can never hear enough of that. Good Luck to you!!!!!!!!!!

Simple is better. Backrub, foot rub, clean the house, breakfast in bed. Little things like that.
I keep telling my hubby all I want for birthdays/Xmas/anniversary is a day off. No cooking, no laundry, being able to stay in bed until 8:00 am, no fighting with the child at bath time, no dishes, you know all that kind of stuff.
Someday perhaps he will give me what I truly want & not another piece of jewellry that I can only wear for special events.

Try a charm bracelet with a baby boy / baby girl charm on it. If you don't know what you're having, then buy the charms separately and keep the one you need.

You'll be in, as well as set for the first several years when you need to get a gift for the holiday's spread out over the year.

Hire a babysitter for the weekend and go to a hotel! What more could a preg. woman want than a weekend of relaxation before the baby comes? By the way, that means that you do EVERYTHING!!! Good Luck
