yes if you eat when you are stressed. Lots of girls get a build up of cortisol in there body when they are stressed it makes your body hold fat and water weight. eat less when stressed and get out of that bad relationship. There are so many good guys out there why be with one that is not good.

Oh yes indeedy! Food is a great comfort, and is a way to protect yourself.
It's not so much the bad relationship that will make you fat, but your reaction to the relationship.
It all boils down to choice.
Instead of eating too much, take a long hard look at your relationship.
Perhaps you need to think about how this relationship is governing your life.

ummm...the only thing that can make you fat is too much food and not enough exercise. So...no a bad relationship cannot make you fat unless you eat your partner while sitting in front of the tv

I think it can go either way.
My last boyfriend wasn't underweight, but he mainly survivied on Mountain Dew and beef jerky. I lost 15 pounds in the 6 months of our relationship because he wasn't a big eater and I found myself skipping lunch a lot to go do things with him.
If your boyfriend is making you feel depressed, you may eat more junk food which could potentially lead to weight gain.

Not the relationship itself but all the comfort eating you do in it. So sure, that can happen and if it does I'd get rid of the man.

no, only stuffing your face and not exercising can make you fat. you can't blame it on anything else. (with the exception of some disease conditions)

If you treat it by stuffing yourself, instead of taking action.
