I went to the doctor cause I thought i had a cold and it turned out to be allergies. They gave me a percription to take. I have NEVER had allergies until now sooo do I have to start taking them everyday? I thought it was like cold medicine you take it when you feel sick. Sorry if this question sounds dumb I've never had to deal with this and I'm about to be 24!

Adult on set allergies are not uncommon. I can tell you this in taken medications for this and asthma for over 30 years. If you take the medicine daily, ti will keep your resistance up. if you take it onoy when it is needed it may (not always) take a few days before you feel the full benefit of relief. Check with your doctor, but taking only as needed is very common.

You are not alone in this. Many people do not have allergies until they are older. Many allergies develop as we age, or our responses to them become more severe.

If you are exposed to allergens on a daily basis you can take them daily as needed. It is harder to control the allergies once the allergic reaction has started. Some allergies are seasonal and allergy medication only needs to be taken during that season.

Also know that different allergy medication works better or worse than other allergy medication for certain allergens. One may work well for animal dander allergies but not plant pollen or mold allergies. You can ask a pharmacist or your doctor which medication is best for your specific allergies.

Oh, to be as lucky as you! I've had allergies MOST of my life. Take precription allergy meds as directed. Any other way could cause health problems that wouldn't happen if directions on the bottle were followed. Some things that CAN happen to you: asthma-like symtoms, medicine-induced- heat ( fever isn't always recorded on a themometer, but there CAN be internal temperature present), medicine-oriented internal nervousness, etc). Don't be frightened. Think positively that you'll be fine.

My husband and that i've got the two been homeless or with a house yet too undesirable to purchase plenty nutrition (in spite of foodstamps) and we went to the nutrition banks for 'donated nutrition' ... maximum OF IT advance into no longer sturdy nutrition ... people provide 'old' cans they could desire to throw away, broken (smashed) pasta, blended dried beans that choose different quantities of soaking and cooking time ... even vegetables they do no longer opt to consume via fact they are wilted and dried out. as quickly as I provide to a foodbank (which we do oftentimes) i flow to the shop and purchase NEW fundamentals ... containers of pasta (the proper they have, too), NEW cans of nutrition, clean flour, clean vegetables, canned meat and canned juices, toddler nutrition in all varieties ... then I take it and drop it off with a 'i desire this enables' and an excellent smile ... if I carry around, I tell the those that we as quickly as have been the place they are, and we've money now, so we are only 'paying returned' what we've been given ... and people postpone their heads and picture that they are in basic terms 'down for awhile' rather of being 'down perpetually' ... it is not egocentric to feed a individual who needs nutrition ... an old individual, a worker, a mom, a father, a toddler ... people need to flow to mattress FEELING complete AND understanding they are going to GET complete the next day, WEEK, MONTH, 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. Donate sturdy nutrition (whether it skill you would be able to desire to consume somewhat much less for an afternoon or 2 a month) and the international would be a extra constructive place for all people!

It depends on how the doctor writes out the prescription. Sometimes it is everyday and sometimes it is prn (as needed). It just depends on the medicine and if you are around what you are allergic to daily or not.

aren't there instructions written on the label? most allergy medications are taken every day to stop the symptoms.
