I'm looking at the Shape magazine right now and they have some abs workouts in here. try the reverse ab twist. It says: lie faceup with legs together and extended over hips, arms stretched out on the ground, palms down (A) bend knees slightly if this position is uncomfortable or if you have tight hamstrings. Life hips off ground and twist them to the left as you reach legs straight up. (B) Lower back to center and repeat to right to complete 1 rep. Do 8 to 16 reps. Another is called the stirring pot. Do this: Lie faceup on floor with legs hip-distance apart, abs pulled in. Clasp hands together, arms abs straight in front of hips, and lift head, heck, and shoulders a few inches. Maintaining lifted position, move torso clockwise (A) as you "Stir" arms in a circle (B) 6-8 times (think of your hips and upper thighs as the "pot") reverse and stir counter-clockwise to complete 1 rep. lover to start position and repeat 2-4 times. The last one is called a kneeling crunch. Do this: tie one end of a resistance band around your right ankle and anchor the other end to a sturdy object behind you. Kneel on hands and knees, and reach left arm forward as you extend right leg behind you, both parallel to the ground (A) Adjeust your position so the band is taut. Pull in abs to maintain balance. Draw right knee and left elbow together (B) Slowly extend arm and leg again and repeat. Do 8-15 reps, then switch sides to complete set.
I would try these and see how it goes. Good Luck!

An easy way to get a flat stomach is by doing basic abdominal crunches on the floor or at the gym if you have access. Also, eating right and not junk food also helps.

One thing you can do is to suck your stomach in all the time. It not only gives you great stomach muscles, but a nice straight back too. Another thing I noticed is when I stay away from the really bad foods/drinks, my stomach isn't as bloated, so it looks and feels flatter. Any kind of sit ups or crunches will help, just do what you can when you can. HTH and Good Luck!

Pilates work a wider range of all ab muscles than crunches alone. Of course, it doesn't matter how great your ab muscles are if they are under a layer of fat. You have to lose body fat in addition to tightening the muscles. Crunches don't get rid of fat (gotta do cardio and watch calories). Running is good because it burns calories while forcing you to engage your core (you'd be surprised how much you use your abs to stabilize yourself on long runs). There is no easy way to get a flat stomach- we'd all have them if it there were.

There is no easy way. If you want a flat stomach then you have to work HARD for it. Do not believe in those infomercials...they don't work..if they did everyone would have a flat stomach..don't ya think?

Not crunches since you can't spot reduce. If your stomach if not flat you must lose the fat first. Doing crunches only strengthens the abdominal muscles, so if you have fat on top of the muscles you need to lose the fat first. Fat and muscle are completely separate types of tissue. Try running, jogging, swimming, biking, etc. Lose a few pounds and then start doing crunches.

Eat only veggis and fruits, and work out. Exercise will get you a nice, flat tummy :D
Crunches are the best for a flat stomach.

cardio! cardio! cardio!!!

your best bet is to start lifting weights. this will help you burn fat and tone up in any places that are flabby. mix in 20-30 minutes of heavy cardio and you'll tone up pretty quickly.

granted, you won't have over night results, but you'll start to notice a difference. remember, all models weight train to some degree. talk with a personal trainer about what exercises you can do to tone your muscle without bulking up.

eating protien will help you build muscle, but don't go overboard. just remember that cardio, weights and proper eating habits (NOT A DIET!) will have you looking the way you want to.

crunches will help, but remember you have a layer of fat in front of those muscles. you've got to burn that off in order to see the muscle!

the best thing, above all diets, gimmicks and at home exercise machines: get off your tush and go to a gym. develop a plan. i promise, once you start doing cardio (and by cardio i mean working your way up to 20 minutes of running at a steady pace.) you'll get addicted. if you aren't sweating, you're not working out hard enough! also, keep in mind that if you do something like yoga or pilates, this should be a twice a week thing ALONG with your regular work out. pilates by itself is not enough. try working different muscle sets each day: back and arms, shoulders, and then legs. give yourself a day inbetween each where you do a longer session of cardio. things like pilates are great so that you don't get bored with your workout.

walking briskly at 3.6 to 4 mph is a great way to lose belly fat. But u need to be persistent abt it...keep at it for 30-45 mnts daily. Running is good too...and then of course u have the crunches. I prefer a good brisk walk on the treadmill though. gets yr adrenaline pumping and yr energy just boosts ! Btw go easy on the fries and burgers and cookies :)

I eat one or two small meals each day. Then I do 100 regular sit-ups and 50 crunches every other day. I also run 2 to 3 miles at least 2 times a week. It seems to work for me.
