i went to get my hair done yesterday,my hair had been dark brown for a year already and i was ready for a change so i was getting highlights, and i asked for alot, i've had them before and by the same stylist and ususally it comes out awesome, but this time after i sat under the dryer for 15- 20 minutes, the stylist checked my hair and it was smoking! it was so hot she couldn't even touch it! she rinsed it off right away, and told me that it burnt, and then she asked if i had anything in my hair, which i didn't, i never use product in my hair! . to top that off, the highlights didn't come out even because a big chunk of hair fell out, so she dyed it with a light brown color, and cut it. i thought it would be okay, until i realized my hair is blonde in the front and light brown in the back with spots of my nautrally dark brown hair! i look like a polk-a -dotted sunk!! so i really need to fix it! how long do i wait before i can dye it again!!! please help!!

Wow....Smokin' hair.......I am a hair color specialist and I have been doing hair for about 16 years......Be REALLY careful who you go to fix this mess (if it can Be fixed)
One of 2 things happened: Your stylist used the wrong volume peroxide on your hair, or...you have some metallic sulfide on your hair (henna?) If you want to e mail me kellimccain@sbcglobal.net I will give you my phone number and I can advise you as to what to do or where to go to have it corrected.....

I would go to a different stylist and get some protein pack or hot oil treatments before i even thought of doing anything else maybe use a temp rinse for a week or so DO NOT put any chemicals on it yourself because you could lose more hair

bless you, I have been dying my hair dark brown to peroxide blonde and back again for years and it should not have been smoking. I am guessing it was the heat that caused this over the product she used. I remember when I was 20 I was refered to a woman who claimed to be a hairdresser and she completely ruined my hair. it was grey, orange and bright yellow! I only wanted my roots highlighted! I was devastated and spent 4 hours and £200 rectifying it, not to mention chopping my hair to an inch all over! my advice is buy a blonde colour and pop it over you. nice and easy should be ok. hope the advice helps you. beth xx

ponytail (or messy bun) it for like three days. You need to find the best deep conditioner you can and get as much moisture in you hair as possible. Use hello hydration shampoo. Do this for around three days, then go to an upscale salon and have them fix it. explain your situation and what happened.

Sounds like a terrible experience! I have only one heartfelt recommendation. Go to a different salon and talk with a new stylist. You need to find a professional who can help you repair your hair and make you happy with it again.

omgosh sounds horrible. i would seriously go to a different salon tho. if worst comes to worst maybe a wig or something would work? but really to be honest you really shouldn't dye your hair all the time because it is really bad for not only your hair but i think your scalp too. hope you can fix it tho, good luck!

you should wait at least one week if you can even more becuase your hair is already mest up big time and if you dye it againg youll have short SHORT hair. so wait as long as you can and start using hair reconstructer to help your hair go back to healthy

do not color again for at least 1 month to 6 weeks.
a good conditioner is biolage conditioning balm.
or there is also a heavy conditioner called mud, works great.

I am a hairstylist, sorry about your terrible experience.

go to another place, tell then waht happened, and ask what they can do, and how much it will cost total, along with any products you need. then i would go back to the place that fu-cked up my hair, and demand they pay for the cost of fixing it.
