Although in most cases the answer is yes. Depending on the type of work you are doing, the IRS has limited methods of tracking your income. Not suggesting you do anything unethical. An example, if you are teaching English in another country, I do not personally know anyone who reports this income to the IRS and it would be virtually impossible for the IRS to track such income. On the otherhand, if you are working for an international company, I am sure that income would be reported.
