Just tell him. He is a guy. He doesn't want to be coddled and hinted into it. Just tell him. Of course, if he's the violent type, you might do so at arms distance...

If you are friends with the girl, try to convince her that she should confess to him that she cheated. Let her know that it's not fair and not right what she did and she has to be held accountable for her actions. Let her know that you care very much about your best friend and you would do anything to be sure he doesn't get hurt.

Basically warn her that if she doesn't tell him, you will. And if you do tell him, be sure you have all your facts straight because she might deny it and make you look like a jealous wanna be girl friend.

I know it is difficult to sit back and see this happening to your friend, but it will cause you more harm than good by telling him. A lot of time the friend with the good intentions becomes the enemy, especially if the person doesn't want to loose the person they are with. I would possibly confront the girlfriend by letting her know that I am aware of her cheating. I would inform her that I will be sharing the information with my friend. Now, you don't really need to share it, but, this allows the girlfriend to feel the need to "take care of it" first. As a last resort you could accidentially let your friend over hear you talking about it with his girlfriend.

Tell him as soon as possible. Just tell him that you have some news that is going to be tough to tell him and make sure there are no other people around to prevent embarrassment. Make sure you have the evening free to take him out for a boys night out to help him get through it. You are a good friend!

You don't. From experience all my own, telling someone that's very close to you that their girlfriend/boyfriend is a cheat usually results in that person telling you that you're jealous, that you want them for yourself, or anything as stupid to deny the truth of what you're saying because that's just the way the world works. No one wants to be told the truth. They'd rather find it for themselves which is why you need to keep your mouth shut, and just hopes that your best friend sees her true colors soon before he's hurt...

What you can do is discreetly tell him not to get his hopes up in going out with this girl. Tell him that you feel bad vibes about her and that she's bad news.

Break it to him gently because those cheating situations kind of hurt.

I also agree with Just M...the guy above me. He said to stay out of it which is the right thing.

Do you KNOW she cheated on him, or is it just a rumor?

If it's a rumor it'll get to him eventually anyway; stay out of it. If it turns out to be false you don't want to be one of the ones spreading rumors about his girl.

If you know for a fact that it's true, tell him, but be prepared to back it up. He'll probably be in denial at first.

He is your best friend; Right? Just be a friend and tell him just as it is, plain and simple.

But only if have proof and you have seen it (kissing, having sex) with youir own eyes; is this is only something someone else told you then forget about it, because most of the time is just a ruror and a lie.
