I have been trying to lose weight for years. I have been on several plans, most recently Weight Watchers. I have done the smaller portion/exercise plan, I am successful for the first 25lbs and then my body just stops!!! I can't lose anymore weight and I am starting to get really depressed, then little by little I gain it back. I don't want to have surgery. I need to lose about 80lbs. I am just at a loss.

Don't get discouraged! Everyone plateaus!

When you plateau, you just need to kick it up a notch. As you get smaller, your body requires less calories. So, take down your calories a little more. Also, work out a little more. Add 10 or 15 minutes to your work out routine. If you're not strength training, start. Muscle burns more than fat and you actually look thinner when you're toned.

Also, do an honest assessment. Start writing down everything you're eating again... are you cheating at all? You still need to be strict with your self. Are you skipping exercise or not working out hard enough? These are all things to keep in mind.

GOod luck! You'll make it!

It sounds like you're at a plateau. It happens to everyone, hun, so you're not alone. Your body becomes accustomed to the food you're eating and your exercising, so it's really important to "spice" things up awhile. Speaking of exercising, you didn't mention anything about it.. do you do any? That's a crucial step in losing weight. Even something as simple as walking can boost up your weightloss. Change your food around a little bit, and increase your exercise level. If you do those two things, you'll get over that plateau and start losing the weight again.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Have you been to a doctor about this problem? It might be a health related issue, or it could just be that once your body gets in to a routine it stops. Maybe you need to twist things up a bit to keep your body guessing and working.

Best of everything on this trying journey!
