Because He made you in His image and He loves you.
As for depression, I've been there and done that. Believe me, it's a waste of time, but you probably already know that. The problem is how are you going to get out of it. Now, what I'm about to tell isn't a magic cure-all and I can't guarantee that it will work for you. It did, however, work for me and although it hasn't made my life completely perfect, well, I don't need life to be perfect to be happy.
First thing, find things to be thankful for, because it will take your mind off all the negative things.
Second, this might sound crazy, but you might want to try volunteer work. Not much, and it doesn't have to be anything that's organized, but it'll help you in two ways: one, by giving your life some purpose, and two, by helping you see that you're not as bad off as you thought.
Third, don't dwell on what your parents (or anyone else) might think about you. Ultimately, the only person's opinion I care about is God's. I know He loves me and cares for me, and it's a love that's big enough to drown out any of the negative voices raised by others. If your parents or anyone else wants you to fail, SUCCEED ANYWAY! I feel that a life well lived is the best revenge.

Stop trying to become a good person! It is God's job to make you what he wants you to be. The first step is to give you life over to him. Jesus took the penalty for your sins on the cross, so that you could be free from your sins and free to live for Him.
I know that it is really hard having no support and love in your life right now, but Jesus loves you and He wants you to become close with Him.
Even if your parents really dont love you, and even if nobody else does, He does, and all he wants is you-----the good deeds he'll take care of later.
Your life has only begun. I bet you are really exhausted emotionally, physically, mentally. I'm sorry, I know how terrible it feels. But, It is when you are empty that God can fill you up.
He may not make the things better in your life that you would wish to have be better right now, but he will work in you, and he will get you through.
There will be friends in your life---later---there will be all different kinds of love, but for now, read your Bible and trust in God because nobody will ever love anybody the way He loves you.
I'm praying for you my friend.

The only thing you share in common with your parents is your body and mind, but everybody is an individual soul. When people critisize you, it is your body/mind they are wrongly associating with your soul. Do not take critisizm personally for this reason. If you do your best at school with the mind you've got, what ever your results, do not blame your soul (your self). That is to say, your true self never acts. It is the mind that causes action. Your soul wishes to direct the mind, but often when the mind worries about the result, the soul's conscience is ignored due to the mind fearing of failure. You are a good person, but sometimes that good person is prevented from expressing itself because of anxiety within the mind.
The cure is for you not to fixate upon the result. Do not worry about failure or success. Rather, take time to enjoy the process of work. If you can quell your anxiety, your mind can cause the necessary work. If you achieve the work, and seek help to learn how to study for passing exams then you have achieved your duty to yourself, for which no result can detract (whether good or bad). A sucessfull person treats success and failure with equal contempt.

Everyone goes through some form of questioning life. I personally have battled with depression in the past. The best thing to do is to want to get better, make a solid effort to get what you want out of life. It's hard to find the motivation or the courage sometimes but each and everyone of us has it in us.

High school kids are jerks for the most part, and it's hard to find true friends. Just hang in there, and remember life is a beautiful struggle. Killing yourself can only lead to missing out on a lot of great things in this life.

As for God, he's not helping as much as they would like you to believe, but I know one person who can help you for sure....you.

Good luck!

First of all, sometimes God has to let us hit rock bottom so that we can learn to depend on him. Satan puts so many bad thought in our head-that's his playground. Rebuke him! Here are some good scriptures for you-READ AND THINK ON THESE CONSTANTLY! Is. 26:3, John 16:33, 2Cor. 12:9. Also, here are some good one liners for you. Cast bad thoughts down, your biggest weakness is God's greatest oppurtunity, praise creates miracles, what you see is what you will be and words create moods. I know it sounds corny but years ago I had problems with depression (which is often times related to ADD) and I filled the inside of my cabinet doors, my car, my medicine cabinet with positive sayings and scripture. I had to be very careful about my thoughts, who I hung around and what I watched on TV. Point being, you need to be very careful about everything that your mind takes in. THINK ON JESUS AND GOD ONLY! I will be praying for you. Don't let Satan win!!!!!!! Your life is not his-it's Gods. One day you will be a testimony to other people who may feel like you are feeling now. Remember, Jesus said I will never leave you or forsake you! God is always there even if you don't feel him.

God wants so much to help you sweety. You have to give it over to God and pray faithfully everyday and believe with all your heart that he will turn it around for you. I know how you feel I allowed too many negative thoughts toward myself and self-loathing/worry get me to focus more on the bad things of myself (which is what satan likes to help with) instead of just believing that God is for me and therefore no one can be against me. You have to change your way of thinking. Give God a chance.... pray... walk on with your head held high that hes going to work it all out for you in the end... it's never as bad as you think when you are in that place you are right now. It will get better. I promise.

Your life is not gone. Even if your parents don't care about you, Jesus does. Try to find a Non Denominational church in your area and call to see if they have transportation available so they Can pick you up for church. I think if you try to find friends at church and talk to the pastor if you need to, you will feel better.

Find a psychologist. Think of it this way: God put psychologists on earth to help people with problems such as depression. As much as prayer might be helpful, bear in mind that "Laborare est orare," "To work is to pray."

Talk to your counsellors and teachers. Depression is an illness that can be treated.
