Why won't girls talk to me?

Question

However much I poke them to get their attention, they ignore me. Even if they do acknowledge me, and I start telling them my best jokes, they walk away as soon as possible.

What should I do? Should I start having more baths or something?

The other problem is that I always start breathing heavily when they're within a metre of me. I'm starting to think that's putting them off. But I can't help it!

Well, hygiene is important. If you smell a little funky, taking a shower definetly wouldn't hurt. But most of all, you should remember to be casual. Girls don't like it when you try too hard, sometimes it makes you seem a little desperate or creepy. Poking and automatic joke telling fall into that category. Start by making a generalized statement about something... like a teacher that you both have. For example, you could be like "Oh my god, this teacher is so boring." or "This teacher is amazing, ...." That way you can spark up a REAL conversation without giving off that 'stalker vibe.' If she still doesn't respond to that, ask her what her opinions on the teacher are. For example. "This teacher is so boring, don't you think?" This works for almost any subject, as long as it is something that you two have in common. Otherwise the conversation will die- fast. After you get to know her a bit, then you can start in with the poking and joke telling. In this case she will probably think it is cute.

Don't think about it too much. That may be where you are going wrong.

Hey man.
You DEFINATELY should take baths regularly. One in the morning, and one at night.
Secondly, don't POKE them. Thats kind of creepy. Act natural around women. Be yourself. Don't try too hard to be funny.
Third. Brush your teeth. Bad breath will scare away anyone.
Fourth. Do you play World of Warcraft? If so, either quit playing, or give up on trying to get a relationship. You might need to get more social. Playing WoW and Dungeons and Dragons definately will not be helpful.
Fifth. When you talk to women, don't try TOO HARD. Women will know if you're trying too hard, and you'll come off as creepy. Talk to them like you normally would talk to any other human being.

You could start by not poking them, that would put any woman off and it's rude and invades someones personal space. Perhaps you should just be nice and interested in what they have to say and be respectful. You can tell the odd joke but don't go too mad with the jokes. Just be yourself...as long as yourself insn't a weirdo ;-)

Probably because you seem desperate for attention.

And poking them obviously doesn't help, either. Women get creeped out by being touched by a stranger.

I take it that this is a joke. Anyone knows that getting nervous & breathing heavy makes you seem like a rapist or something.

Relax, and quit trying so hard to get people to like you. If you didn't try so hard, then some people would like you (And who cares about the few who don't? You cannot please everybody).

OK, first take a shower
Second, comb your hair, not formal nice, but enough so its presentable.
Third, stop poking them, its so annoying and it gives you a bad rep.
Forth, don't tell Jokes, especially if their stupid and pointless.
Fifth, talk to them like a normal person does.
Sixth, listen to what they have to say.
Seventh, don't act different around them, some guys do that, and trust me, we notice.
Eighth, don't dress dorky or nerdy.
Ninth, don't swear at them if your trying to act cool.
Tenth. If your not popular what so ever, your probably not going to talk to the popular people a lot, so try talking to the ones that fit into your popularity class.

Bathing...yes. Telling jokes right off the bat...no. Be yourself. I hope you aren't literally poking them, that would be annoying. I would recommend talking to them in a friendly manner without the intentions of dating. Ladies like being treated like a person, not a sexual object. Be yourself. That is the most important thing. Also do not force yourself on them, making them feel intimidated. Relax, talk to them casually. If they like you, the sparks will fly naturally.

Talk to them as if they were your Sister.....just normal.

well being poked with a finger time after time or even if you poke a random person can be annoying.. i sure as hell get irritated if someone pokes me, be it girl or guy.. and your jokes, possibly humor, is just not their cup of tea.. if they are sexual jokes, they might take it offensively.. if they are childish jokes [i.e. your mama is so fat] they'll think you're immature.. as for baths.. i really do hope you shower at least once a day.. hygiene is an essential for self-image..

your poking them??? thats ur first mistake. u should try something else to get their attention. Try saing their name. and dont let the first thing that comes out of your mouth be a joke. thats a turn-off. comment them say i like your hair or shoes or something. once u know the person you can poke them to tell them jokes.
