I am a recent art school graduate, about a year now, and I am interestd in getting into freelance work fashion/ art based. Not sure really how to get into it. My current job right now is not hat i want, sales.... and i live in the bay area in california, not exactly a fashion capital but there is a fahsion community here. any advice?

Work on some pieces of art representative of what you want to do. In your case some fashion illustrations. Look online for fashion type jobs or art related jobs and start sending them samples of your work as well as a resume. If you are good you will get some work. Also go to the mall and find some clothing you like. Look on the tags to find out the brands. Then starting sending your samples and resume to those companies as well. Frequently those places hire freelancers. Keep your prices low to start to stimulate business. Raise them later when you are more seasoned.
