It will take some work, but it can be done, anything can be done.
As said, motor mounts, tranny, custom drive shaft, possibly a new rear end.
Something to consider, is your car a turbo? If not, try find a turbo VG30 to drop in there, or get really gutsy and do a VG30DETT. 300hp out of the box, and with a few bolt ons, boost controller and intercooler, you could easily pick up 25-75 horsepower.

It's a Nissan forum with a hybrids forum for people like you looking to put a different motor in a Nissan. They also have a great 300ZX forum.

If youre asking this question, you probably shouldnt attempt this. Some vehicles made by the same manufacturer are relatively easy to swap motors in, as the trans/wiring are the same, however for this type of swap, you will have to custom fab a number of components. A car isnt simply a motor, theres accessories, trans, cooling, wiring, etc that all has to be redone to make it all work. If you get all of this to match the new motor, then you will most likely have to fab up brackets, cut out and reweld parts of the frame...... its a big big job not to be taken lightly. Then if something doesnt work when you get it all together, youve changed EVERYTHING in the car so the problem could be anywhere. If youre serious and you have deep deep pockets, have a custom shop do it and save yourself the headache unless you really know what youre doing.

in basic terms a pair years to new 1884 280ZX and before had the in line 6 cyl engine and those motor vehicle settle for the Skyline L-6 engine much less annoying. yet there driveline aspects are in basic terms solid sufficient for greater or less 250 HP.
