I know the hotel in Thailand has 220V 50A but I don't know if the plug will fit in the socket. My computer power supply says 110-240V 50-60Hz. Does anyone know if this will work properly?

The computer will be fine, the converter part is all built in there.
What you will likely need is a wall plug adapter. The kind where you put the end of you plug into another small plug with 2 round prongs.
For Phuket, I advise that you get a surge protector. They're at Radio Shack for about $20. There are a lot of thunderstorms, and sometimes the powers supply does go out unceremoniously.
Better safe than sorry, I never charge my computer without one.
I hope you enjoy your trip!

your computer will be working just fine with your power cable. I use Dell with 2 flat and 1 grounding round prongs power plug and have been travelling all over Thailand (2 to 5 stars hotels). I don't have any problems at all.

I think all mobile phones, PDA, computer notebook, digital camera have been designed to work with 100 - 240 V and 50 - 60 Hz. You may need plug adapter (ask from hotel staff or buy one at local market) if you go to countries dominated by British system, Singapore, Malaysia, NZ etc.

Yes it will work you just need to get a plug adapter or a universal one from Radio Shack or other travel supply stores. Your computer power supply is an universal power supply that's why it can handle 110-240V 50-60Hz.

Welcome to Thailand!

If you have most of a day to kill, I would recommend the John Gray sea canoes. I think it cost around $80 US per person for a lunch and dinner on a boat. You will see the beautiful limestone islands and caves. You will get off the boat and get in canoes to go exploring in caves on the islands. Some caves are so low that you will have to lie down in the canoe just to get through. Some of them open up into a lagoon inside the island. Each canoe will have a guide to assist and tell you about everything. It was excellent. I used PhuketRichard as a travel advisor and he put me on this. Contact him for more details. He is the pro on Phuket entertainment.

You'll have to get a plug adapter, but your computer has a built in power adapter. If you want the internet, get a hotel, or hostel with WiFi.

You are fine. I stayed there for a month and my Dell never knew the difference. Also, you don't necessarily need a wall adapter as plenty of places have American style prongs, especially the better hotels.
