Jesus said to john from now on i will make you fish the people and as he was one of the twelve they also were fish like john.(we have to look to it as a symbole)
the term fishing here means not only saying the word oh God(throwing the nest into the sea) but also making others believe in it (grabbing the nest with fish). that is why they all went to fish.

Scripture is not clear, however Tradition tells us that the disciples were disillusioned and traumatized by the death of Jesus, and they solely wanted to return to their previous lives.
Another more simple theory is that, well, what do some men do when they have no answers and all seems lost? They go fishing!

That was the right thing to do when the hope is dead. But Jesus was risen from his death and that changed the course of history if not the world but in spirituality. At least, we know we go to God who wants to be the father of all his creation.

Most likely that was part of the original ending of Mark's Gospel. Mark's Gospel in our earliest manuscripts ends abruptly, and in it the women do not tell anyone they found the empty tomb. What could come next? The disciples return to their previous lives, and only later encounter Jesus in that context.

I think Peter and the other disciples were discouraged and afraid.
Fishing had been Peter's occupation before Jesus called him and promised to make him a "fisher of men." They just went back to what was familiar because they had to do something with their lives.

Because of the parable:
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life.
Jesus was also a fisherman. So were some of his apostles.
