find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day

have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.

There are more factors to consider than height and weight in choosing a weight loss program. What is your current activity level? Fitness level? How much exercise can you safely do? I've just lost 31 pounds (am 5'1") with a lot more to go. But, I don't count calories. I am following Weight Watcher's Core plan - I eat from their list of foods, I eat when I'm hungry, and I stop eating when I'm satisfied. The key is to always take in less calories than you spend. So, the # of calories you want to count will depend on the amount of exercise you do. You need the calories to fuel your exercise so you don't harm yourself, but you don't want to eat too many.

its best to see a dietician about this because they will give you the most accurate count. however if you aren't in the kind of situation where you can do this then its going to take a bit of experimenting. first write down everything you eat, every day and check the calorie count at calorieking.com. add 'em up and see how much you're really taking in per day. the general rule of thumb is that you don't want to go less than 1200 (even around there can be dangerous) because not enough food will sloooooooow your metabolism way down. shoot for around 1500 a day and see where that gets you. adjust as necessary after that.

If you're not going to exercise, take in about 1,300. If you are going to exercise, say burning about 600 calories, eat 600 more calories on those days. Eating fewer than 1,200 isn't good, your body will go into starvation mode and begin slowing your metabolism and storing food as fat, rather than burning it off. Hope this helps!

in order for you to loose weight you need to exercise and eat properly. get a exercise bike and ride it everyday, and try the slimfast. and in order to loose weight you have to burn the calories off that you had all day. meaning if you had 1500 calories then you need to burn 1500 calories off bu the end of day...i lost 35 pounds riding a exercise bike and drinking slimfast, and im still losing. and its only been 4 months..

It relies upon on your metabolism, your age, your gender, any drugs you're taking... in short, "you want to burn off more beneficial energy than you're ingesting." this does no longer advise starve your self to lack of life. this suggests you have to be bodily energetic more beneficial than you devour.
