do I still get to go to heaven?

the bible doesn't say it's wrong to BE gay, just to act on it, right?

so basically, as long as i spend my entire life in the closet, i still get to go to heaven?

Many priests are gay and believe they're going to heaven. Since there is no heaven, they should abandon the cloth and stop suppressing their feelings (just like wingless said)

I'm afraid it takes a little more than that to get to Heaven, sister. I just have one word for you, JESUS

When you can truly accept that name and not flip out like all the other little boys and girls on this entire forum, then you'll go to Heaven =P GUARUUUUUNTEED !!!!

That name = Truth. Deep down people know it and like little scared demons they run, scream and say all kinds of "intelligent" things on here against it, but it's just that simple. When you can calmly accept that name like a truly grown person, then you'll understand everything. Very Very few will truly enter the kingdom. It's obviously a very narrow path which a huge huge majority choose not to follow, but Jesus is always available to ANYONE who just calls to him. Just ask for Jesus and you'll be able to feel him answer back. It's not audio sister, but it's a very strong feeling which you just eventually understand and know.

Even now Jesus is very real and most people just can't take it. I read through all the ratings here and I see a lot of thumbsdown where there should be thumbs up (I'm gonna find you little weasels and love you long time, in a christian brotherly fashion that is =P )

We are all born with a sinful nature, the avenue we choose to take to indulge in that sin is different. There is no such thing as a homosexual; there are people with homosexual desires. God did not make people gay, they were born into a sinful world and chose that life style whether consciously or unconsciously. There is a man who goes to my church who has had homosexual desires and used to be gay, but he knows that it is not God's will for him to be gay. He has renounced that life style and committed his life to Christ and God has helped him deal with those desires. He can do the same for anyone else suffering from those desires. The problem is that the world we live in considers homosexuality a normal, acceptable thing. Our society glorifies movies that showcase homosexuals in a positive light like Brokeback Mountain, Boys on the Side...TV shows like Will and Grace...it has become popular and trendy to be gay.

I believe that heaven is not a destination but a state of being.

Be gay if that's what you are. I absolutely don't believe that our human experience is to be dictated by any book - it's our experience to have as a spiritual being.

I say don't supress yourself - live life to the fullest and be proud of who you are and what you've done when you make your transition out of this existence.

According to Fundamentalists, that's what you'd have to do, be celibate and miserable. The Catholic church teaches that gay feelings just means God wants you to join the clergy and live a life of celibacy. That's why they set up Project Exodus to try and force gay people to change. You should watch that new episode of South Park where Butters goes to a rehabilitation camp for gay boys. It's very funny.

don't act on it, believe it's right or condone it and you're fine in that area, just like with any sin. according to God the person who says "he had it coming" to a murder victim might as well have done it if you feel okay with it.

by Biblical standards homosexuals can't be married to eachother, but a gay man can have a wife and kids.

The Bible says to not have Gay Sex and not to act like the opposite sex. Even if your out and don't do anythign you can still get into heaven. A popular catholic priest that died on 9/11 was gay, Father Micheal Judge.Google it.

its commendable for you to be endeavoring to do whats right according to the Bible.... but that sort of thinking puts you in the category of every trusting believer in God from the Old Testiment.

the apostle Paul of the New Testiment had such a standing before he accepted Jesus as Messiah.
and his epistles are full of teachings on righteousness by law verses righteousness by grace through faith.

and your way of thinking its also similar to what Jesus said concerning the pharasees. "on the outside you are a white washed tomb, but inside are dead mens bones."

proper behavior in itself doesnt deal with the inner flaws. and God who looks at the heart is interested in correcting the flaws that are there.

that's why He sent His Son Jesus to take the place of mankind and so deal with our inner flaws and provide for all of us the only thing that pleases God, a new inner corrected heart.

as the apostle Paul said, "anyone in Christ is a new creature. the old is passed away, behold all things are new and they are of God."

Jesus says that whoever looks upon someone with lust has already committed adultery with them in their heart--- this goes for homosexuals and heterosexuals....so therefore, that is still a sin, and even one sin separates you from Christ.
One must be born again in Him to inherit the kingdom of Heaven ( John 3:3)
Born again of His spirit, when you confess your sins and repent of them- Believe in Him and follow Him-- He gives you a new heart and new desires--He opens your eyes to His truth and keeps you grounded in His word. This is a true conversion- one who is a child of God. God says in His word that He knows who are His sheep, and His sheep know Him- so He knows your heart and if you truly want to serve Him and be saved, you would not even have any desire to be gay. Because it is not of God, it is of satan. The Holy Spirit would convict you of this if you were saved. See Ephesians 1.
Speaking to christians, as the Holy Spirit guides us, in the word of God:
Titus 2:12
It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,

There is no degree of sin. Sin is Sin. One is not more worse than the other. It's not about labeling everyone and putting things in some kind of order in your mind. Sin is Sin.
