I want to get married through Catholic Church, but I haven't gotten my Confirmation. I need to get legally married so that is easier to move from my state to his state with my daughter(fiance' not the father). I want to get Confirmed in Church; can I? So that I can get married through the church later?

*Is Catholic*

I am a little confused on the order in which you are doing things.

SO
*If you are/were married to the daughter's father
1. You may not remarry until you get an annulment.
2. If you remarry without an annulment you will not be confirmed.

*If you are not married to the daughter's father
1. If you are a baptized Catholic, you must be Confirmed before you are married UNLESS you get a dispensation for just cause. It sounds like you have a just cause.
2. If the fiancé is Catholic and you are not a baptized Catholic you can get a dispensation easy.
3. The Church does not recognize civil marriages, period and it cannot be dispensed. If you go this route, it can be a mess because in order to be confirmed you have not be living as man and wife and in order to be married in the Church, you need to be confirmed (unless dispensed for a just reason).

In short, yes you can get married in the Church before confirmation, just takes a dispensation.

Good luck and God Bless.

Yes. The Church would be very interested in seeing you Confirmed so that you can also receive the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.

Reason being, civil unions are not acknowledged by the Church because they are not spiritually binding, thus you're living in sin.

Having said that, the Church will be all too happy to help rectify that situation.

Technically, yes you can.
But unless you had Religion classes in school, you'd have to attend CCD for a couple of months and a few workshops in Church. Confirmation as a sacrament in the Catholic church means that you understood all the promises that your godparents made in your behalf in baptism. That said, you'd have be sure to understand all the doctrines of the Church. It's not just a one-day drive-thru transaction you can do in one day.

well, depending on your current religion, if your not a christian, you need to be baptized, then first communion, and then confirmed, which I think you can do all in one night. You have to take some classes first. Then you have to take pre-marital classes. Then you can get married. It might be easier to get married outside the church
