Per my first question about my front tooth being knocked loose had basically the same answer from others to "go to the dentist - now", I went and it has to be extracted - it cracked across the crown. But since I do not have dental insurance, they are charging me $195.00 for this tooth extraction. Sounds kinda pricey. Just wanted to know what others thought. Thanks!

If you already have a dentist that you are comfortable with then go ahead and let him/her do the work. 195.00 is about right. If all you want is the extraction and you are looking to save a few more dollars, you may want to go to a dental school program and let one of the graduating students do it. From what you described, it is a simple extraction and can be done for about half of that at a dental school. This is a great option for teeth cleaning as well w/o insurance. Yes, they can and will administer pain meds for you. Good Luck!

Just got home from having a tooth extracted. X-Rays of all my teeth, nitrous oxide during the extraction, and the procedure cost me $192. Sounds like your price was on par, especially if the dentist has to work to get the tooth out. Good luck, and be sure to follow the aftercare directions very specifically and do all you can to avoid that very painful condition called "dry socket." I got charged $20 extra because I didn't bring any checks and they charge more to use a credit or debit card. You might want to inquire about that with your dentist. Wish I woulda.

An extraction can cost from $90 to $300, depending on how difficult a job it is for the dentist.

That is definately reasonable, depending on where the tooth is, and the extent of the damage done to the tooth. I have a broke tooth that needs to be extracted, and it's a molar, and I am paying $215.00

Don't worry, you are not being ripped off!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Sounds about right. With my insurance, here in So. CA, it costs $100. And my insurance is really bad. You can always shop around. There's not really any set prices. Good luck!

my dentist did an extraction and it costed me about 500 bucks without insurance. consider yourself lucky ( i am in canada) dont pull it yourself cause you will still have nerve endings that will be bothering you and you will end up at the dentist again for that.

Depends on where you are from, but in general, that sounds pretty reasonable to me. Procedures cost more on the coasts than they do in the midwest.

My son had a tooth extracted about six months ago, it cost $187.00, so that is about right.
