That, "God" of sorts, at worse case scenario, is that "creating thing" of the universe; but, can we get beyond that? Can God really be this mysterious? Is that really needed? Does it stop at "just" a creating force?

Define God is where we need to go here. Ok, it is a "Creating Force." There is a force that has/is creating all in existance; therefore, we have a God. Please people, get up to speed, a "God" doesn't have to be a thinking being like us. So, here lies the dillema. There is a God, but is it calculated? Can "it" be or does it need to be so mysterious? Seems to be silly; no?

Its a myth to control the masses and provide us with some imaginary purpose for living. We are alone, and need to find our own purpose for living.

Uh read the Bible.

The Big bang is no surprise to those that read the Bible.
"If I had no other data than the early chapters of Genesis, some of the Psalms and other passages of Scripture, I would have arrived at essentially the same picture of the origin of the universe, as is indicated by the scientific data." Nobel Prize-winning physicist Arno Penzias (Big Bang Theorist)

The creation of life is obvious.
"The principle of [divine] purpose ... stares the biologist in the face wherever he looks ... . The probability for such an event as the origin of DNA molecules to have occurred by sheer chance is just too small to be seriously considered ... ."Ernst Boris Chain - Nobel Prize in medicine

Even Antony Flew the former atheist (30+ years of speaking as an atheist) that had debated men such as C.S. Lewis recently said that the latest biological research "has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which are needed to produce (life), that intelligence must have been involved." He is not a Christian only a deist but atleast he is searching.

Your statement that "there is something greater than all of us" is just begging the question. How do you know for sure? There are many people who desperately want to believe that God exists, but belief alone is not enough to make something real.

Wow, is this question coming from an atheist? If so, then miracles do happen.

Anyways, back to the question, God's mystery is more profound than our human understanding ("Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great:" -- 1 Tim 3:16 NIV). We just have to have faith in his omnipotence and accept the fact that He is the Creator of all things.

Of course a greater spirit exists. You try explaining to bacteria population used for testing in a laboratory how it came to be. Not that im referring to human beings as simple bacteria and that we mean that little to a higher power. And I am not saying that we just some sort of experiment. All I am trying to say is maybe we should just except that some things might be to great or to big for as mere mortals to understand.

How can you ask a question and then fix the scope of the answer?

A bland statement like 'There is something greater than all of us' is a hell of a premise. How 'greater'? Jupiter is larger, and so is an elephant.

There is no apparent need for anything like 'God' in order for the universe to be as it is. Perhaps your deity is not just being coy.

I'd question your assertion that there is "something greater than all of us". What exactly does that mean? Aliens with better technology or physically superior? An entity that is somehow involved with the affairs of this world? The universe as a sentient being?

As far as we know none of these things exist, well perhaps the aliens do, but so far it seems we haven't had contact with them.

Have you ever considered the possibility that the creating force you are referring to was satan and not God? Everyone assumes, jumps to conclusions, and underestimates the capabilities of satan. Which is exactly what he is counting on.

If you are saying that 'god' is just whatever caused the universe then:

What caused 'god' ?

You are just playing semantics. This does not match any definition of 'god' except your own. With word games such as this I can declare anything to be 'god' because of the holistic nature of the universe. It is meaningless.

Edit:

However the prize for the most meaningless drivel goes to:

Sunscour.

God's existence can't be proved. God's non-existence either.
If there were proves, there will be no doubts.
It's a matter of faith.
