The effects of divorce are very long term. This data doesn't surprise me in the least. Any thinking person knows that divorce is the worst possible answer to marital problems. UNLESS there is physical violence within the marriage, OR infidelity (adultry). There is only one Biblical reason it's okay to divorce, and that's if one of the partners has commited adultry. God knew that once a third person was brought into the marriage bed he/she would be there forever. Being cheated on is not a thing that anyone ever forgets. Also, once the trust is gone you can never get it completely back. There's always that nagging little doubt...
