Anyone with medical knowledge please help! Back in the early 70's my Dad went to see his doctor and they put him in the local veteran's hospital and wouldn't let me or my Mom see or have any contact with him for almost 2 weeks! He had epilepsy and was prone to some pretty bad siezures but why couldn't we visit him? What were they doing to him that we were not alowed to see him? If anyone knows anything at all, I would like to hear some possible reasons! Thanks.

That used to be common practice. They may have wanted him to have rest or it m igh be that the conditions of the hospital were poor. Either way, it was the wrong thing to do

I only have questions. Did they do it at his request? Or did they think someone was giving him something to cause seizures, wanted to remove the potential source? If he is still alive then have him get a copy of his medical records and check it out.

No idea but I can tell you that Electroshock therapy was (and is still sometimes) used for severe depression so it probably wasn't that

I heard that back in the 70's, doctors used electro-shock therapy.
