I have areas on my head that become very painful and feel flat to the touch...?

Question

I keep thinking that I bumped my head and it left a dent, then I checked the way I sleep, I checked my scalp.
It is painful. One area at a time ,sometimes days go by ; then the pain, flatness, return in another area; when I check the old site and the scalp is back to normal.
No evidence of bug bites or trauma what-so-ever, any idea's?

Not sure what is causing this - the pattern doesn't seem to fit any typical headache pattern. You might need to pay attention to any additional symptoms, and the locations on your head to figure out what is going on. Here's a link describing different types of headaches:
