Scott, I think you're right.
All things MUST be scriptural.
I do believe that Jesus hates false doctrine.
I also believe that the Mormon Church has some doctrinal practices and beliefs that are unscriptural. Thanks.

Mike, Sounds like you're scared of THE Truth.
Jesus said, "I am THE Way and THE Truth and THE Life. NO one comes to the Father except through Me."
That's the ONE Way I'm talking about.
That's ONE way. I can know THAT way. TODAY.

My true doctrine guide, is my bible (KJV) and true Christian correspondents.
Of course Christ hates false doctrine, He spent His years telling ppl the truth only now to have it distorted by fake religions and false prophets.
NWT John 1.1 vs KJV John 1.1

The short answer would be that the Bible is called the "cannon" for a reason. A cannon is literally a standard measure, like an official weight or an official measuring stick. If something contradicts the cannon, then the cannon is the thing that is correct by definition. The church put together the writings of the people who were recognized as prophets into a single work so that christians would have an official reference to compare other beliefs with.

1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
~1 John 4 (NIV)
6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
10Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
11I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. 12I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

False doctrine is that which is not taught in Scripture.
Jesus hates false doctrines.
Example: much of Mormon theology is not found in Scripture at all. Therefore it is false.
Scripture on all of this: read the book of Galatians.

The superficial would say "something that is not in the Bible" - however, if by chance the Bible picked up errors over the centuries and Jesus did come back (and offered something contrary to modern understanding)- Jesus would again tell the scribes and pharisees (those who just look at the books) and say judge me by my friends...for by the fruits you shall know him.

HEBREWS 13:9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines.
Can't find in the Bible? Then it isn't real.
