For me I need lots of light in the morning. The best way I wake up is to have my alarm set on music. Something lively and upbeat. Then after five mins of listening to the music I turn on the lights by my bed. Lots of light-Floor lamps, table lamps, all of it. Although, you'll shock yourself if you turn them all on at once. Then I crawl out of bed and often do a yoga-type thing while listening to my music still. Sometimes I just sit on the floor and stretch. I also like to drink a bottle of water in the morning. It wakes me up more and helps my stomache feel better. Music, Stretching/Dancing, Water....And a nice hot shower!!!! I don't drink coffee either. Good luck, sleepy-eyes!!

I use a light timer called a sunrise simulator. The timer is attached to a wall-mounted bathroom light with 3 full-spectrum bulbs directly over the bed. The timer gradually increases the light to full strength over a 45-minute period. After using this for around a month, i automatically wake up just about the time the light turns on all the way. The light also signals the cat and dog to wake up and they start moving around and checking to see if i am awake.

The sun hasn't even come up that early!?!?!? Why in the world would you want to be up before the sun?!?! (I am not a morning person) When I do have to get up early, like 7am, I go for a jog or do some light exercises to get my blood flowing - that and a pot of coffee with a smoke does the trick for me.

Take B12 vitamins before you go to bed, they will help you with energy. Give them at least 3 or 4 days to really notice though.
Right when the alarm goes off, hop out of bed and start stretching. You need more self discipline than motivation.
