Almost any weight lifting will help. If you have access to a gym where they have machines that is great too. Walking with hand weights helps not only the arms but everything else as well!!!

Not embarrassing at all but an easy exercise is grab a can of soup in your right hand and bend it over your head so that it is behind your head and near your left shoulder. Then do some easy straight up and down with the can. Then repeat with the other side. I am not a doctor and do not know your situation but this was an easy one for me I started out doing only ten reps at a time now i use weights. Good Luck

There are arm exercises, and dumbells would work well. To lose mass, and tone, do more repititions with a lower weight. I used to be overweight as well, and I've lost over 50 pounds... but by running and eating healthy. Lifting weights will not make that big of a drastic difference unfortunately.

overall weight loss.
if you start doing weights your arms will look bigger because there is gona be more muscle undernetha the layer of fat.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Dumbbells are a great piece of equipment to work the arms and are very effective at toning them up. However, since you are overweight you have to try to remove the layer of fatty tissue that is surrounding the muscle. To do this you need to focus on an exercise/cardio program that helps burn fat.
Weight lifting is a good for toning, however by itself is not very effective at burning fat. Low intensity cardio paired with weight lifting is great at toning your arms and shedding at.

Try Pilate's to tone the muscles but what you really need is to start a weight lifting program, nothing crazy, do it gradually. This is the only way to create muscle and burn fat in your arms.
Sometimes you cannot see the results right away but after a couple of months, you'll see real changes.

believe it or not.. all i used to tighten up the flappy arm was the curling bar and no weight on it. it weighs 45 pounds with no extra on it. I did it for 10 minutes a day.. or as many as i could with out hurting myself.

you would have to do some cardio excercises to target the fat ANYWHERE on the body the arms are no exception. Excercise in addition to strength training.

Ewww, like when you wave, people behind you get smacked in the face?!?!? Wow. Scary.
Have ya thought about maybe cuttin back on the ding-dongs AND exercising? Lots of reps with minimal weight is ideal for toning, but it sounds like you need to drop some flab too.
Alternatively, just wear whatever you want but remember this adage: just because it comes in your size doesn't mean you should wear it.

Some work with dumbbells will do the trick. You can work the forearms and your biceps and triceps with them.
