Any dog can be a great house dog...it just depends on how much exercise, training, and activity you provide for the dog. Just because someone has a small house/apartment doesnt automatically mean you have to get a small dog and vice versa.

The more exercise you give a dog the better behaved they will be because it tires them out. It is best to find a dog that suits your personality and activity level and narrow it down from there.

Any dog that is trained in obedience and socialized well is a good house dog - regardless of size or breed.

In fact, dogs do better in the house because they are with their "pack" members (that's you and family).

My dad collected live great danes and at one time had 5 of them - all house dogs.

My pit bull is a house dog.

It really depends on what you want out of one. A good general overall house dog is a Golden Retriever. We have Jack Russell's and a Rat Terrier, they are more active though.

I have a pug and he is great at home. He does not need much exercise. Likes to sleep and is very affectionate. He has a strong bladder only goes out 3 times a day and can hold it for 10 hours during the day. He likes to play fetch when I get home. I do take him to the park 2 times a week. You do have to look out for them gaining weight and they shed a lot. But I would recomend this breed to everyone.

actually any...but you have to consider the size of home and all that when deciding on the dog for you..if you have very little space get a small to med., size dog...if a large enough home and then a bigger one....also make sure you have sufficient yard for them to play in...any dog is a good hosuedog if the owner puts time into the dog to train it to be good...if you get a dog and you put very little time into it..well it wont be a good one..

Honestly, stuffed animals, however if you are looking for something a little more "lively" then I would check into Staffordshire Bull Terriers. They are loving, kind and fun. They are a small/medium dog, short hair, and easy to keep for any living situation. They travel well and love I mean love kids. Their nick name is the nanny dog and they are the golden retriver of England.

I have a Bichon Yorkie and he is a great house dog. He doesn't chew on anything but his toys. When he is home alone he hardly ever has accidents, but if he does he goes on a training pad.
