I know they took a lot of liberties when making the movie, but "The Last Temptation of Christ" shows him doing this. It would make sense that any carpenter back then was involved in making crucifixes. The Romans probably paid good and there was plenty of business.

No! That would be viewed as supporting the Roman occupation and the killing of Jews, etc. The cross became a symbol of the price he paid for our salvation after his innocent blood was shed upon it. Previously it was a symbol of death; now it is a symbol of our salvation.

As a carpenter he would have made plows, table, and other useful items.

They didn't need a carpenter to make crosses. (Crucifixes are crosses with the image of Jesus on it.) They were extremely rough and primitive.

Quite unlikely.

Chopping down a tree to be crucified on was done by the condemned on along with dragging it into place for crucifixion.

mmmh, I dont think Jesus would've taken or bid for a contract to make crosses for the condemned. He is pure LOVE.

LOL. Well, if you think about it Jesus is God and God created the universe knowing crucifixes would be created, so yes he did. Silly Christians.
