Tubal-Cain in Ezekiel?

Question

In Ezekiel 38, it talks about Gog, Magog, Meshech,and Tubal. Does that mean that Gog and Magog will be technologically advanced? Most people believe Gog and Magog to be Russia, and this would help the theory, idea, etc...

Jan, I thought Ethiopia was an ally of Israel. I'm not so sure about Ethiopia being against Israel.

Most scholars think the Russian city of Tubalsk (in Siberia) is where the tribe of Tubal settled. Therefore, Tubal is rolled into Magog.

EDIT: "Jan," the Ezekiel invasion will occur at least 3 1/2 years before the Tribulation; actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens within a year from now. Neither battle will be fought in Alaska. Here are 7 reasons why the Ezekiel invasion cannot be the same as the final battle:

First, in Ezekiel there are definite allies mentioned and they are limited in number while other nations stand in opposition. In the Campaign of Armageddon, all nations are allied together against Jerusalem without exception.

Second, the Ezekiel invasion comes from the North, but the Armageddon invasion comes from the entire Earth.

Third, the purpose of the Russian [38:6] invasion is to take spoil; the purpose of the Armageddon Campaign is to destroy all the Jews.

Fourth, in the Ezekiel invasion, there is a protest against the invasion; in the Armageddon Campaign there is no protest since all the nations are involved.

Fifth, the Ezekiel invasion is destroyed through convulsions of nature and in-fighting among the invaders themselves; the Armageddon invasion is destroyed by the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Sixth, the Ezekiel invasion is destroyed on the mountains of Israel; the Armageddon Campaign is destroyed in the area between Petra and Jerusalem.

Seventh, the Russian invasion takes place while Israel is living securely in the land; but the Armageddon Campaign takes place while Israel is in flight and in hiding.

Well when *most* people believed Gog and Magog to be "Russia" it was actually the USSR and a major threat to the US during the cold war. Like all prophecy this will not be understood until the events it refers too happen, if they ever do.

You got it; its Russia. They will be allied
with Iran, Ethiopia, Somalia, and others, and will, along with Antichrist and his soldiers, come against the Children of God.
We will not be engaged in that fight, however, God will handle them himself.
He will destroy all of them and their armies in a place where almost all scholars agree is Alaskan wilderness. Isn't it ironic that we purchased Alaska from Russia for pennies on the dollar? God is sooooo cool.
