I am a born again Christian actually. But i am so confused about everything. In the first place i feel so defeated in every area of my life coz things never work the way i think if them to be. I feel so discouraged and frustrated. I am so fed up of living my life like this. I have always wanted God to work in my life but i feel He is not interested in my life. I know im wrong abt i dont understand why so much delay in getting my answers. I really cannot go on. Infact ive now termed myself as the defeated one, and may be that God will never work in my life again. My prayer life too has gone dead. Dont know wht to do..

First of all don't call yourself the defeated one. The Bible tell us that we are snared by the words of our mouth.

It also tells us that in your patience possess you your soul.

I feel that you need a renewing in your spirit. Have faith and doubt not. Sometime trails come against us and God will allow it to test us to see if we will still stand for him.

The Bible also says to delight thyself in the Lord and he'll give you the desires of thine heart. We must live a righteous life in order to receive his blessings. Not our own but his righteousness.

God is interested in your life, he told us in the Bible that he'd never leave you nor forsake you. The devil is trying to pull you down. Be sure to go to church and don't stop that. That's usually one of the first things the devil does when he works against us is cause us to stop going to church. You need to pray and you need to read your Bible. I'll pray for you also.

The devil has tried to defeat you but you can overcome him by the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony.

When Peter sank in the water when he was walking on it toward Jesus he didn't fall because his feet slipped out from under him but rather because he took his eyes off Jesus and looked at the storm around him. But you know the story, Jesus was there and picked him up. Don't take your eyes off Jesus no matter what happens and he will be there in the end for you.

I know this feeling I've been through it and what I learned is that God never walks away from us ever and he doesnt leave us. the only one who can walk away is you so if you are still committed to him and doing everything you know you should then what you are experiencing is like what many christians go through sometimes where God seems out of reach and unresponsive. Some people call this the dark night of the soul.
The first thing you have to realize is being a Christian doesn't mean you don't have problems. The early church was persucuted mercilessly. Also, faith is not something based on emotion, its nice to have the emotions and they are important in some ways but they cannot be the basis for what you believe or your life will constantly be a spiritual roller coaster.
The good news is you are not alone David was described as being a man after God's own heart and even he experienced something very similar to what you are going through.
I don't know how you have been going about this but what helped me the most was reading the writings of David as he is by far one of the most openly human biblical characters and his writings often reflect the same emotions you are experiencing.

Psalm 77 ( Just one of many)
When I was in distress, I sought the Lord;
at night I stretched out untiring hands
and my soul refused to be comforted.

I know how painful the experience can be and I don't claim to have all the answers but personal experience has taught me that simply trusting God and believing what his Word says can be a huge help in confusing situations. The Bible says that Satan is the author of confusion so remember that just because you are confused doesn't mean you are not a Christian it can simply mean Satan is testing your faith. So be strong and don't give up I'll be praying for you.

I've been dealing with some of the same issues, we all hit slumps. Being a Christian doesn't mean that we are going to feel filled with the perfect Spirit in every moment. You cannot control the world around you- only God can do that- but you CAN control yourself.

I recommend the book How People Grow by Henry Cloud and John Townsend, as a supplement to your own bible study. Most importantly, get involved in a fellowship and don't be afraid to lean on other Christians for support- we are all the Body of Christ. You're not at the end of the road, but you do need to be proactive about renewing your relationship with God.

E-mail me any time and God bless you.

i believ that god is always working in everyones life even if we don't realize it. there is a reason that you are going through this and feeling this way. hopefully it will motivate you to do something for yourself. god is not like a magic genie - he won't grant your wishes but he will help you through your spiritual journey. just because you are born again doesn't mean you are more likely to win the lottery. make some goals for yourself and go after them and don't give up until you get them. doing this may even draw you away from being a born again christian, but once you start having some change and success you will realize that god was with you all along.

First, and I mean no disrespect, your question is all about what's wrong. Try to start each day by thanking God for what's right, and maybe recognizing what's right is something you need to spend some time on.

With regard to prayer, too often we pray for God to intervene and grant us our wishes. That's not the purpose of prayer. Prayer brings us closer to God. Jesus told us how to pray, and the sample he gave said, "Thy will be done," not, "My will be done." Doing it his way means that his wishes and ours come together and become the same.

Life becomes glorious when we focus on gratitude for the wonders around us and the good in our lives, followed by what can I do for God today, not what can God do for me.

Take a few minutes to ponder the wonders of creation and what a gift that is. I mean the duck-billed playtpus? If that doesn't make you laugh, get back to me and I'll try again. God bless you.

You answers have to come from within. To depend up an external father figure like the Christain God is a waste of time. Think about it, supposedly God has a devine plan, he can't allow the prayers of his worshippers to.effect his plan.

In my opinion the divine is in all of us,the only way to discover this part of you is through meditation. Find out what is in you heart and follow it, . You will find you have everything you need..

At some point you will praise God that things did not work out the way you wanted them to! He knows what is best. He does answer parayer, sometimes He says "yes", sometimes "no" and sometimes "not yet".

He is working in your life right now, you just don't recognize it yet. Just say "God, I don't what's going on. I'm confused and frustrated. Even though I feel this way I will still love and obey You. Please help me to learn what You are teaching me." Then wait for His answer. He will show you what's going on.

When God answers our prayers and gives us guidance it is not necessarily the result we think it should be. He answers every prayer, we just have to be listening. If we pray for a new car so that you don't have to worry about it breaking down, he would guide you in the direction that would be best for you and it might not be a brand new car. He does answer, you just have to try and think of the positive in everything. I will remember you in my prayers to help give you understanding. If you feel like talking in more detail you are welcome to email me.

Please read the page on Christian Good Works here:
http://bythebible.page.tl/Christian-Good-Works.htm

The pages on Kingdom and Born Again may show you some things you don't know. Perhaps you need to study the Bible, and pray to God through Christ for comfort, for the ability to understand his truth that sanctifies.

Alot of times, Christians put limits on God, they expect Him to fulfil things that they, themselves, demand, not God. This causes huge dissapointments, and an idea that God let them down. Sometimes, whats needed is complete surrendering and to allow God to actually do the work without interference in your life. I would imagine you have been praying and reading His word all along correct??
