I forget the name of the religion but they are in Appalachian Mountains and they do these prayers and something about being bitten by rattlesnakes. Something like that anyways I remember hearing back in fifth grade because my teacher used to live near the mountains and knew people that did that. But mainly Scientology is a UFO cult and have some pretty weird stuff going on in it if you actually get past the public image. The religion is based off a science fiction book written by L. Ron Hubbard! That is almost as odd as seeing people allowed to write Jedi down on religion in applications and formal papers now. Yup, you are allowed to write Jedi down for religion on job applications and any other papers that have what is your religion question on it. I don't know anyone who does it but someone must be if it was passed to be allowed.

Scientology, hands down.
Somehow they've turned bad science fiction into a religion full of lawyers and people dying in small rooms in Florida, and suck in rich and famous people.
You gotta shell out hundreds of thousands of bucks to realize all your problems are caused by the spirits of aliens some other alien named Xenu killed with hydrogen bombs in volcanos on earth billions of years ago.
OooooooooooooK there, sure, buddy...

I don't know many of the smaller ones but the weirdest big one is Scientology.

I don't think there is a "weirdest," but I think the fundamental cults are dangerous.

Scientology. Mormonism is a close second. Christian and Muslim fundamentalists can share the bronze.
There are weirder ones but these get top marks since they are so pervasive.

Weird, that would be, in my mind, Ralienism. They claim to have cloned a human being, without any sort of proof, and think we are all decended from aliens who are now called Adam and Eve. They are also very secretive, which makes me think they are even weirder than I think they are.

Scientology, you have to pay money to get into the religion. That doesn't sound at all like a scam.

Any one in which the leaders ask the followers to, in effect, "leave your brain in the lobby and come on in."
That pretty much means ALL of them. It even once (a few centuries ago) meant MY faith. Fortunately, we've mostly outgrown that kind of insecurity.
