Maybe to hide the answer and shield themselves from truth??? Just like in real life!

Let's clear a few thing up:
1. sorry about forgetting Muslims and other religious extremists..I shouldn't have singled out Christians.
2.I know who's giving thumb down by reading the answers and adding the two and two by common sense.
3. I agree it goes the other way too, but I personally don't give anyone a thumb down based on their faith.
4. I know what the "Truth" is...and it is that the truth can't be found about God and it need not be for a happy life! And a lot of religious people will deny this fact and insist on having to believe or not believe in their Gods.

Why do Atheists give a thumbs down to every Christian
answer?
Because people are not tolerant of other people's opinion and that is sad.
The real questions should be, why do people feel that their opinion is fact? Isin't the whole point of opinions the fact that they can't be proven right or wrong?

I dont give thumbs down just because an atheist is answering...
however, when I mention God.. I always get multiple thumbs down..
I think it is the other way round..

I think that's a two way street, there are atheists here who thumbs down every Christian answer. We could try respecting each other's viewpoints and learning from each other instead. How about it?
I'm neither Christian nor atheist, I'm here to learn, discuss, and to encourage tolerance.

Because they don't want to see it, but they don't think they should report you for abuse either. I tend to do it, not to answers a purely dont agree with, just to the really long ones. you know, the ones that are deserving of the title of novel.

Perhaps because the answers are predominantly from a science book and not the heart... Or perhaps because atheists are afraid to be in touch with their emotions?? And how exactly do you know who is giving thumbs down?? Maybe another atheist does not agree with your answer....God knows you people cant make up your minds....

they dont give a thumb down to anything. it seems that not believing in god or religion gives yourself an automatic "thumb down", because you missing out on the real truth of life that no mind can fathom and no one can concieve. the real question is why is there no truth in you?

I don't do this. I only give a thumbs down if the answer is vicious, in very poor taste or doesn't answer the question.
