Most will say its better to wait until the second, or third date, but you go with what you feel, if it feels right, or you really want to go for a kiss then do it, but if you feel like its really too soon then dont, but I dont think kissing on a first date is a bad thing if there really is that connection which makes you want to. I have kissed on first dates before, and even sometimes before a date was ever made.. lol. Those ended up being the best relationships I had.

Kissing on the FIRST date is not neccesarily a good idea...
It depends if you are talking about just a peck or a french kiss...
But lets just say french kissing........ To do that on the first date is moving a little too fast don't you think? What is left to look forward to on the second date or third date?? Sex? Well I guess thats the only thing left.......
No one wants to be cheap so I would say, no it's not a good idea to kiss on the first date...
BUT if you know the person really well, you are old enough and mature enough to deal with it, you really like the person AND you had a great time with them on the date.... Then why not? Kissing is great...

You know, there was a time that I thought kissing on the first date was inappropriate. I am sure my thinking came from the idea that was placed in my head by my religious parents (father was a minister) and I was especially taught what the Word of God said but - as I grew to adulthood, I begin to realize that if the feeling is right and the mood is tight, you have to go with the flow. I have kissed on the first date - and it was sweet. Depending upon the situation of the two people involved.

Nothing wrong with A (one) kiss goodnight after a 1st date. After all, if you like the person, you want them to come back for more. And if the person doesn't call you again, then you haven't made a big mistake. You'll feel better about it in the morning.

i think its a great idea it gets the tension away from the whole should i kiss now should i kiss her later so yall can get past all the first dating crap and really get to know each other instead of wondering if you try to make a move how she'll react or will she think your nothing but a slob so kissing on the first date does releive that beginning relationship tension

Depends on how you hit it off. Personally I wouldn't get too involved on a first date, but a kiss goodbye would be ok.

My personal opinion:
If you really really like the guy and see a potential long term relationship with him, do not. It makes him chase you, and you'll find out whether he's out for just one thing or not. Once you see that you are connecting emotionally, then go for it.
Meantime, show your affection by a light smooch/peck on the lips or cheek.

There is nothing wrong with a kiss if both people are into it. However, don't use your tongue on a first date. That is just trampy.
