Yepper. You can't be a Christian and believe in reincarnation at the same time. Christians believe that once you're dead, you're dead. If you believe in Jesus then you are rewarded with eternal spiritual life, but your spirit will never come back down here to get a second (or third, or fourth) chance to learn what you didn't the first (or second, or third) time. The entire point of reincarnation, to those of us who believe in it, is continued spiritual growth. Christianity believes you only get one shot at spiritual growth, and if you don't grow enough, oh well.

I believe in reincarnation and I accept the many truths of Christianity and believe Jesus Christ was the son of God, a perfect enlightened being and I believe that Christians can find their way to heaven through Jesus Christ. I also believe that there are other loving paths to God and I likewise respect those beliefs and if that make me a christian I'm thankful and if not I still bless all good Christians and wish them God speed.

Reincarnation is not a compatible concept with a Christian world view. Some one may claim to be a Christian and then state he also believes in reincarnation. That doesn't necessarily mean he isn't a Christian, but he is definitely misguided in his beliefs. He may just be new to Christianity and not yet understand all of its teachings.

The reasons behind belief of reincarnation are high hopes for a do-over because of an unfulfilled life at the present time or simple because you want multiple chances to make an impression on Earth.
If God allowed us to be reincarnated, then sending Jesus to die would be pointless because sin would have no eternal impact on your soul, not just getting to heaven, but the guilt you feel while on Earth would be for nothing.
One life, one body, one soul, one destination - heaven or hell. The only second chances you're given is through forgiveness before you die.

Actually reincarnation was a part of the Christian belief until the Catholic church gave the idea the boot and redefined the concept of the after life sometime around the year 500 AD. Originally it was believed that when you died, you went to hell, you stayed in your grave with your body until judgment day, or you could be reborn.

No. It means you have figured out that the "soul," "spirit," or "mind" is eternal. This is what is meant by eternal life. Your self (whatever you conceive that to be) lives on after the body you inhabit dies. Perhaps you come back as another life to continue your path to the Creator. Perhaps not. But your essence lives on in some form or other.

"And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,"
You will always find Christians who believe it is alright to do and believe many things that are not in agreement with the Bible or Christian teachings. That does not make it true.
