So many think abortion is wrong ...
I think IVF is wrong.
(And in most cases abortion probably is right ...)
A child is a gift to me.
How about you?

Crystal ... my logic says that a gift is that what is given. saying you have a right to that gift is making the gift into a right. If you can't get your head around that so be it. Go and buy yourself some gifts, it might stop the confusion :-)

crystal .. it's not because you can afford it you are neccesarily deserving. if they truly were the powers that be would have provided the means from within.

I think a child is a gift. And I think IVF is wrong because of the wasted lives in the making. There are so many children that need parents. Some of them aren't perfect but they still need a Mum and Dad.
Upside down world where we abort babies and make new ones (ivf) out of a dish of perfect and imperfect little lives in which most of them get ditched. In the mean time Children need parents and no one wants them so they end up in care.
What's that all about.

It's a gift and a responsibility.
Just because someone has to use ivf to get pregnant doesn't mean they don't deserve the same "gift" as other people. If they want a child bad enough to spend that much time and money on the off-chance that they might get pregnant, then i think they're probably more worthy of having a child than many people out there. We see teenagers getting pregnant all the time because they don't bother to use protection. How are they more deserving of this "gift" than a couple who has to fight for it?
"and in most cases abortion probably is right" what? most abortions are from people who got pregnant on accident. so if a child is a "gift," then they're just discarding this gift like it doesn't matter. so unresponsible people are more worthy of a child, even if they decide to abort it, than people who want a child so bad they'll go through all the time and money it takes to get pregnant?
your logic makes absolutely no sense.

A child is a gift. It says so in the Bible. And we aren't really "parents". We are stewards for this "gift". I think IVF is wrong. I think abortion is wrong because then we deny the gift. At least we could give the gift to someone who God may have chosen to receive something so special. But tampering as with IVF? No. Then you deny the Makers giving of the gift. He has his reasons for not giving. I suffered several miscarriages and didn't get my gifts. I had to accept it as His will. Then in my sorrow, I had two bright and beautiful gifts given to me. I am blessed among women for these children are wonderful (18 and 16).

A child is not a gift. The gift is in giving life to the child.
No matter how it starts on that amazing journey, be it created in lust, love, a test tube or by accident in the back of a car, it possess all the magic that makes living on this planet so wonderful.
If the journey was going to be one of unquestionable pain and a harrowing death ( as in horrific physical malformation) then never allowing the foetus to start the journey from birth is probably as kind a gift.
Thank God that is not a decision I have had to take.

A gift. For what it's worth, I think both abortion and IVF are wrong in most cases.
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate. Psalms 127:3-5

Ooh very brave statements there i can see that a few people are gonna be upset with that, but in answer to your question i believe that children are a blessing, and i feel that some people should not be allowed to have their own, and by this i mean these sick animals out there that abuse, mistreat and neglect them, as for ivf i do not feel that it is wrong, some people cannot have children i don't know why I'm not a doctor, but as long as these people will treat the child as a treasure then they deserve to be able to have a child also, i do not feel that God has taken away their ability to have one for divine reasons if he did he wouldn't have given humanity the ability to combat it, and would like to think that he wouldn't want one of his children to suffer the emotional and physical torment that not being able to have a child brings.

A child is a Gift from God, they are God's way of saying that the world should carry on..
I think abortion should not be used as a form of birth control and I dont believe in IVF. If God wanted you to have children he would have made you that way. Sorry, but you did ask.

I'm so glad you can't hear me cos the scream is piercing!!
If you choose to have a child then you choose to give that child life. Following these choices only nature can decide if that child should continue to grow or be healthy. (yes I know there are other factors)
If you are lucky enough to have that life given to you then it is a precious Gift!
Grrrr to all those spouting!!!!
(sorry I must be pre menstral, cos this is winding me up tonight)

Having a child, for most Humans, is nothing more than a CHOICE.
What are your reasons for wanting a CHILD?
Are they Selfish?
I personally do not want to bring a child into this world...
I would hate to be a child in this place - If you want to do your child a favour - Do not have one!

If a child were a Right then all married people would have them. The world is full of people who are unfortunate and would do anything to be able to have a child. It is a gift from god.
