How can i perswade my mum to get a dog.?

my mum doesnt want a dog because she thinks they smell and will dribble and but her on the carpet.

OK bad writing aside.

First, prove that you are mature enough to be responsible for a dog.

Do your homework.
Do your chores without being asked.
Let Mum know where and with whom you are going when you and friends are out and about.
Save your money - spend it carefully.
Choose your friends wisely - make sure they are polite, honest, hard-working young folks.

Do this for a year - maybe two.

Then, you can ask her again if you can have a dog.

Now then, if she says no, consider this: The cost of obtaining a dog is pretty inexpensive. It's everything else that costs: the vet care (that is as expensive as human medical care), the food, vaccinations, walks, cleaning up after him etc. etc. - and if you're renting, maybe there's a pet deposit - if your landlord even allows pets.

So, even if your mother agrees that a dog would be nice, it may not be in the budget right now.

Maybe your mom doesn't want a dog, because she thinks you won't be able to take care of it. Many dogs do not have a smell problem, they can be house trained and crate trained and won't smell up the house. They take a lot of time and energy and generally need a lot of affection.

As to the cheapness, there is no cheap animal. They all cost money, especially if you have nothing for them in the beginning. When I got my dachshund from the pound, I required food, crate, collar, leash and many vet bills to keep the animal healthy. It came somewhere in the range of 150-200 dollars, not including the adoption fee which was 40 bucks. And remember, the dog has to be on flea medication and heartworm medication (if it doesn't already have heartworms). The flea medication is 70 bucks and the heartworm is around 24. All that is a lot of money for someone on a budget. But my baby is worth it. I get so much more back from him than I could ever ask for.

First of all, show responsibility to the max. Make sure she knows that you are going the etra mile to keep things tidy around the house. Read dog books at leisure and explain to her your method for training and grooming.
When all else fails, then just beg for a baby sister or brother, I am certain she will appreciate the thought of having a pup.

The cheapest dog to get is a rescue pup or dog. However if money is a concern please consider the cost involved in owning a pet. Dog food, toys, collars, vet bill (yearly) and vet bills (emergency), training classes and sometimes a security deposit if you rent. This all adds up fast.

Your mom is right they do tend to smell even if bathed what i use for my dog is fresh and clean cologne for dogs helps him smell fresh and clean between baths you can tell her that also that you will take full responsability of the dog such as bathin feeding walking ect.. she might be afraid that shes the one thats gonna get stuck with the dog and you not pick up after the dog cheapest would be from shelters i have a pure bred shih tzu whom i got from a proffesional breeder for 349 they sell their females 500-550 but thats in my area i can give you their link www.royalpuppypalace.com they just got new litters. good luck.prices are gonna varie according to the dog and their breed they breed small dogs.i dont know if you are into them.also show that you are responsable and if money is a big issue please note that you will need to buy the dog food and toys collar vet bills get him or her groomed or you can learn to do it yourself ect.. and if you rent then security deposits that varies by apt .can be expensive luckily i live in a house.
