I work at a country club. So, for a day party, at this time of year, I would wear a sundress or informal, yet classy and length appropriate skirt. No demin. You pretty much are going to wear what you would to a baby shower at a formal/nice restaurant during the day.
Have the gift professionally wrapped. Since it's at a country club, I'm assuming the mother to be or a family member belongs to the club; therefore, there will be other members there. You don't' want to look like you threw wrapping paper together at the last minute. You want it to look neat.

Sundress no higher than knee length, flats, pumps, or nice sandals. As for the gift, put some thought into the wrapping. Bags are easy, but if it is larger, wrapping works best. What I do sometimes for Baby/Wedding showers is put things in a nice basket and decorate it with ribbons. The basket is functional for them to use for something else and it makes a nice conversation piece setting it apart from everyone else's neatly wrapped gifts.
A basket with lots of little things for the baby is a neat gift...the last shower I went too, my basket got RAVES from everyone as being really neat idea.
Also, when giving diapers, don't always just give newborn ones...Give them some size two so when the baby has grown out of the newborn ones they still have some to use from you.

Just wear something nice and comfortable. Maybe a sundress. Gift bag or wrapped is fine. High-end Country Clubs aren't all that big a deal. I've been a member of one for 30 years.

To wear:
Something bright, vibrant, goes with the season.
Gifts:
From personal experience, instead of the traditional wrapping or gift bag, go out and buy a basket and have it wrapped in cellophane. I went out and bought the whole shelf of baby shampoo/lotion and it only cost me under $20. And the baskets out there are pretty cheap.
I know you didn't ask for gift ideas, but I hope you like the basket idea.

The most appropriate attire would most likely be a pant suit or a simple dress. I would definitely stay away from jeans or evening wear.
Also, I would have the gift wrapped vs using a gift bag. Don't forget to enjoy yourself.

A sundress with a nice cardigan (a spring cardigan...white is always nice....just in case it's chilly!!). Wear coordinating heels and you may even want to consider a sunhat if the festivities will be outdoors at all (patio?)
Do you have a gift yet? Have you considered a diaper cake...it would be a showstopper of a gift! I make custom ones....so even if someone else gives one YOURS will be the one remembered! Just an idea.....in case you are still in need of the PERFECT gift!

Wear a white pant suit with a pastel colored shirt or a bright colored shirt like yellow. Accessorize it according. Or wear a pretty floral skirt that is not too short. Top it off with a nice top. I would have the gift wrapped.
