There was a huge drop in the world's population and something had to be done. There was a worldwide effort with the cell phone resulting. The population is now increasing and it looks like we will survive.

Oh, that was "back in the day" when people weren't so lazy. They'd actually WALK to a PAYPHONE (what's that?!) if their car broke down. Or they would make phone calls only from their desk at work or their land line (what's that?!) at their home. When they were finished, they'd watch a VHS tape in the VCR (what's that?!).

I have to admit though--the sodoku game my husband got me for my cell phone provides hours of entertainment. I actually hate talking on the phone, but I do have a cell for emergencies. (And listening to music. I have a fairly lengthy train commute to work.)

I think its was kool back then.. Pay phones were everywhere! Oh and we had pagers!!
Its sad my 7 year old wants a cell phone so badly! But no way is this mama buying one for her, I can barely afford mine and its our house and everything phone!
When she is older and walks home from school and goes and hangs out with her friends I will get her 1.. With a good plan ofcourse!!

I love my cell phone, but I grew up without one and can manage perfectly well. They still have these things called "pay phones" in a lot of places.

Amazing, that most kids don't know what a payphone is.

look for a payphone or pager using pager codes. Or use the landline. Life was much simpler back then. I miss those days!
